Country cottage with Beautiful Outdoor Spaces

This country cottage with easy access to NYC has just been renovated and is surrounded by a woodland stream on two sides and gardens and lawn. Master bedroom and full bath upstairs, small guestroom/office and half bath downstairs, with washer/dryer. Bright, cheery kitchen is stylish and functional. You will be 5 minutes from the charming Village of Pawling and Metro North train stop, and 5 minutes to The Appalachian Trail and Empire Rail Trail, great for biking, hiking and walking. Dedicated work space is on the first floor with a view of the gardens. Stairs to 2nd floor are steep. Use hand railing. Cottage is a five minute drive to the Village of Pawling, with Metro North train stop for commuter trains to Grand Central Station, NYC. Zagat-rated fine food restaurant, McKinney & Doyle is in the Village, minutes away. Hiking trails and Rail Trail are within 5 miles of the cottage. A badminton set and gas grill are available for our guests' use. We live in the main house which is across a little wooden bridge, and it is about 200 yards away from the cottage. There are plenty of trees in between us and you have your own driveway and parking area. We are available to greet our guests and answer any questions, or we can be completely invisible. It’s your choice. There are no other houses visible from the cottage, except the main house (our house) which is 200 yards away and separated by a stream and plenty of trees. The cottage sits on a country road, horses grazing just down the way. Three miles up the road is a trail head for the Empire State Rail Trail, which is excellent for bicycling or walking. There is room for two cars to pull into the driveway area for the cottage. The charming Village of Pawling is a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Larger grocery stores are also about 5 minutes away. Metro North stop is right in the Village. There is a taxi service in town if you don’t have a car. Blow up mattress, with electric pump, is available on request. Child's high chair available on request. A large supply of firewood is stacked and ready to use in the wood burning stove. Pets may be allowed on a case by case basis. Tell us about yours.
