The composition of the building materials was of huge importance to the owners, who chose a high-quality, ductile metallic finish. Bastard Balm is a unique, eco-conscious treehouse dwelling on the impressive Treedwellers Finstock site. The structure itself is quirky, eco-design, with a curved, circular canopy, finished in a cool, dark veneer. An exterior, front-facing deck offers outdoor space and a lookout spot to breathe in all that the acres of space can afford. The interior is a unique blend of contemporary design that creates a bohemian feel to what will be a timeless, warm, Californian style. The use of natural and environmentally-friendly materials, high-end art pieces, and touches of hotel luxury all combine to create a bespoke, high-end experience in a structure to match. The site has seven separate and unique, boutique-style treehouses to suit a variance of moods, lending itself to different styles and tastes. Treedwellers is a place for diversity and a celebration of ‘forward to nature’ spaces, seamlessly blending modern creature comforts into the tranquil surroundings of the Oxfordshire backdrop, within architect-designed tree houses, without impacting on the wildlife or habitats. The wider area is developed with its natural surroundings in mind, building sustainable accommodation in a beautiful part of the world, whilst returning the former industrial land to nature. The nearest town is Charlbury, a popular and accessible location for visitors wanting a deliciously satisfying taste of the Cotswolds, with fantastic shops, pubs, and restaurants.
