Susie’s cell; (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Forestburgh General store and wine shop is a 10 minute walk down the road! Great place to get firewood, coffee and teas, snacks, drinks and basic food items. Plus of course wine & spirits! Across the road from there is Forage Pizza featuring a revolving menu using local ingredients. Take your pizza home or hang out around their fire pits in the warmer months. Hiking and walking around the area is a must. Bundle up and walk down to route 42 (where the aforementioned general store and pizza place is) take a left and cross the road to find St.Josephs Road…take a right up that road and on the right hand side is “Black Brook”. Its a fun hike/walk along the water and will lead you passed swimming pools and falls. The dogs love it! You will reach St.Josephs Lake community (which is private)…Many more hikes in the area are a quick drive away. We use the app “All Trails” to find them. There is also family friendly Bear Mountain and Holiday Mountain for skiing, tubing and snowboarding. Shop Rite, Walgreens, Walmart and many restaurants can be found in the nearby village of Monticello. It is an 8 minute drive from the house. Towns close by that are worth visiting; Livingston Manor, Mountaindale, New Paltz, Bethel Woods, Narrowsburg, Eldred, Barryville, Jeffersonville…
