Countryside Cabin on Quiet Cul-de-Sac
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This almost new tiny home/cabin features an entry ramp to a screened-in porch complete with patio table/chairs, a kitchen/dining/living room area with two recliners, one being a lift chair, cable TV/WiFi, laundry area, bathroom with handicapped accessible shower, and a bedroom with a queen size bed. Open parking pad for 1 vehicle, space for extra. Quiet neighborhood with minimal traffic. Perfect for mature guests with lots of amenities provided! This cabin is small, but it has everything you’ll need for a quiet stay…the combined living, dining and kitchen space has everything at your fingertips. It’s built of southern pine throughout for a cozy feel. The sliding barn doors in the bathroom and bedroom add privacy. The front porch is perfect for sipping coffee and relaxing early in the morning while listening to the birds. The cabin is almost at the end of a cul-de-sac, so you’ll have peace and quiet most of the time! Although we are in a neighborhood, we are pretty much out in the country and you’ll have to drive to get to “town”, so if you’re looking for a place close to restaurants and shopping, ours isn’t it! 😊 The cabin is located at the end of our driveway, so it’s fairly close to our fenced back yard. Guests are welcome to walk around outside, but there’s not that much to see except houses in the neighborhood! If you enjoy taking walks or running/jogging, there are two cul-de-sacs with security lights at night and it’s very safe. We will be on site most of the time if needed, but we promise not to bother you unless there's an emergency that would affect you or you ask us for something! If you want to say hi and meet us, that’s fine; if you don’t, that’s fine, too! 😊 Our neighborhood is about 35 years old and we have lived here since 1990. Many of the neighbors have lived here for years. The cabin originally belonged to my mother in law who passed away in 2021 (in the hospital, not in the cabin). It was custom built for her in 2019. You can use Uber, Lyft or a taxi/shuttle service to get here if you happen to fly in. It’s about 21 miles to/from the Golden Triangle Regional Airport. Our place is about 2.5 miles from access to US Hwy 82 East toward Tuscaloosa, AL, and about 4.5 miles from access to US Hwy 82 West toward Starkville, MS. The closest grocery store (Sunflower) is about 7 miles away. It’s about 10 miles to downtown Columbus and US Hwy 45 where most of the popular restaurants are located, but there are a few that are closer. We are about 30 miles from Starkville, MS (home of Mississippi State University), about 50 miles from Tuscaloosa (home of the University of Alabama), and about 17 miles from Columbus Air Force Base. There is a Dollar General just 1.5 miles away and MANY more all over the city and county!
