This is a lovely place to stay for a relaxing time in beautiful countryside yet not far from good pubs and other local amenities . Barn Cottage is within easy reach of the market town of Saffron Walden , the historic Audley End Estate and Cambridge . It is comfortable in all seasons having underfloor heating and a fireplace ( wood provided ) . You have everything you need for a short or long stay. There are many wonderful country walks starting from the cottage . There is a practical kitchen including electric stove with double oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge. The dining room has space at the table for four people. The sitting room has a working open fireplace, television, DVD player and comfortable seating. The bedroom has exposed rafters, double bed with Hypnos mattress, and a view over the garden. The bathroom has a traditional roll top bathtub with hand-held shower, toilet and hand basin. The cottage has a pretty garden with various seats and country views. The owner lives next door and is available most of the time. The picturesque market town of Saffron Walden is 5 miles from the cottage. The Duxford air museum is 4 miles away. Cambridge park and ride is 9 miles away. There are many good walks including one just a mile across the fields to a good pub. Local arts venues include Saffron Hall, Saffron Screen, Stapleford Granary and many more in Cambridge. Audley End House and Gardens (English Heritage) is 4 miles away. The cottage is ideally situated for Stansted airport and train stations for London Liverpool Street or Kings Cross. Parking is available in the lane by the cottage. The cottage is at the very end of a narrow lane, so there is no passing traffic. You can park outside the cottage in the lane . Note that mobile reception is poor so it is best to use (Hidden by Airbnb) or similar . An electric socket is available within 5m of the road for charging electric vehicles.
