Tiny House Stanthorpe. Hang Out With The Animals!

While tiny houses are super popular they are rarely offered as holiday accommodation. We believe ours the first in the region and the first in Australia where you can "sleep" with the animals. It's like an animal safari with hairy cooos, alpacas, miniature goats and Scottish Belted Galloways, who are all very happy to get up close and personal. Breakfast each morning, local wine, chocolates, bath robes, toiletries and other lovely treats are all included in the price. Make a new best friend with one of our four beautiful APLACAS (Pablo, Eduardo, Diego and Nigel) recently checked in permanently to the Straw House. You are welcome to help out or just hang out with them during your stay. And we now have 10 miniature goats (the ones that don't eat plants or washing apparently). There are three lovely ladies and two delinquent teenagers boys. Their names are Pippin, Fancy Pants, Screaming Sally, Rupert & Rex. The babies George, Gerry, Charlie, Chelsea and Rafael could not be cuter and love to be picked up and cuddled. Their favourite food is raisin toast, you are welcome to feed them!! Last Christmas our cow collection increased with the arrival of three gorgeous girls. Bonnie, Holly and Ivy are Sottish Belted Galloways. In Feb 2021 Bonnie gave birth to Benny, the cutest guy in town. His new best mate Hamish arrived thanks to Holly in March. Baby Gus joined Team Straw House in September. We are just a few minutes from not only some of the region’s best wineries, favourites include Heritage Estate (an unique unforgettable experience) and The Summit but also a stones throw from the Maze, Law Dogs, The Christmas Farm, Stanthorpe Cheese and Sutton’s Juice Factory, Cidery and Café with their incredible apple pies. Travel through Stanthorpe for more wineries and specialty establishments and if you desire, walk it all off at one of the region's famous national parks which include Girraween, Bald Rock and Sundowner.
