Charming Thatched Cottage in Wiltshire

Over 400 years old, the Cottage at Spinners Well is a cosy and romantic house - full of character and newly refurbished with generous private garden and off street parking. On the outskirts of Kington Langley - only 2 miles from M4 junc 17, it is well located as a stopover on the way to Dorset, South West and Wales - or as a base to explore the beautiful County of Wiltshire, the Cotswolds as well as the City of Bath. Lots of walks from the doorstep - with pubs and shops within easy car access. The Cottage has its own parking space for one car, generous sunny garden to the front and private entrance under the wooden porch. There is a gravel driveway, through double gates off a single track lane. The drive is shared just with the next door property which sits behind the cottage - the "House" at Spinners Well, which we also rent out as a holiday let. The two houses are "link detached" but face different directions so feel separate from each other. You enter the front door under the wooden porch, straight into the generous sized sitting room with separate dining area. There is a galley kitchen and upstairs a shower room with toilet and basin and a double bedroom with king size bed and wardrobe. Due to the age of the cottage (it is a listed building), it does have low ceilings and beams in places - particularly upstairs and the staircase is narrow. Linen and towels are provided - as well as basics such as soap, tea, coffee and sugar. To ensure you are lovely and snug on those colder nights, there is a remote control wood effect gas fire. Wifi, Smart TV, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine also provided. **Please note that there isn't a washing machine. We do have central heating as well as extra blankets and an electric radiator but as with all older houses - we do recommend you bring extra jumpers in colder weather! The garden is a good size, private and fenced but not completely secure - so if your dog is small and likes to escape please keep an eye on them! Need more space? A car is needed as the cottage is rural, there is parking for one car. We live about 25 minutes away so can help with anything you need. There is a key safe for easy access and self check in Kington Langley is a pretty village with primary school. Spinners Well is located on a short private lane (Sutton Road) just off the B4069 on the outskirts of the village - with its easy access to the M4, Chippenham and the lovely villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. We don't have a pub or shop in the village but there are good pubs a short drive (or 20-40 minutes walk across fields) away. There is also a 24 hour shop close by , as well as large supermarkets and Allington Farmshop with deli, butchers and cafe within easy reach. The cafe at Allington is busy but worth the wait! There is lots of information about places to eat, shop and walk. Our local pubs such as the Langley Tap are popular so we do recommend booking in advance. There are footpaths which run directly from the cottage, so walking is easy if you want to leave the car behind. You can walk to the Wellesley Arms pub in Sutton Benger, along the easy footpath so a great option for lunch (around 25min each way) A car is best to explore the area. There is also a railway station in Chippenham (15 minutes away) which is very handy - with easy parking and trains to Bath, Bristol and London Paddington. The garden is enclosed by a 1m fence
