Lovely Cotswold cottage with woodburner
A cosy detached cottage with secluded garden and stunning views over a delightful listed village with 11th century church and two pubs. Nestled in the hills and valleys between the old market towns of Tetbury, Nailsworth and Stroud, this is the perfect starting point for walkers and anyone wishing to explore the many natural and historical attractions of the Cotswolds. Our cottage is situated in the heart of a charming listed Cotswold village with two pubs (one offering Indian food) and amongst some of the loveliest rolling countryside with public footpaths across to Gatcombe, Chavenage and Minchinhampton. Nearby Tetbury (4 miles) boasts an ancient market place and plenty of antique shops; Nailsworth (3 miles) is home to award-winning Hobbs bakery, fish specialist Williams Kitchen and a number of interesting boutiques and restaurants. With its excellent Saturday farmers market and organic Stroud Brewery, trendy Stroud (7 miles) is well worth a visit. Other many highlights in the immediate vicinity include Prince Charles' Highgrove gardens, the arts and crafts manor at Rodmarton, Sapperton church, the parks at Miserden and Cirencester, with other attractions such as Chedworth (Roman villa), Barnsley, Bibury, Berkley Castle all a short car drive away. Stunning walks are of course to be found everywhere, such as Laurie Lee's Slad Valley, Cam Long Down at Uley, Coaley Peak and Painswick Beacon to name but a few.
