The Bakery Annex @ Sweetbriar Cottage - a charming, calm and cosy rural haven; pleasant for a holiday break at any time of the year. Set in 2 acres on the southern edge of the village of Tittleshall, surrounded by farmland, with views across the Nar Valley. There are many pleasant local footpaths, walks and lanes to cycle on the doorstep; with the nearest coastal town of Wells-next-the-sea and the expansive North Norfolk coast just 25 minutes drive away. The Bakery Annex is a fully self contained small cottage - ideal for either a single person; a couple (+child under 12 welcome at no extra cost) or two friends sharing. The accommodation comprises: Main entrance off veranda into sitting room, with woodburning stove; kitchen/diner with table, worktop, fridge, Baby Belling cooker etc and french doors onto south facing patio; downstairs toilet/shower-room; upstairs attic bedroom with standard double bed and single bed. Outdoor spaces great for star gazing on clear nights. Guests have driveway parking for one car - further off-road parking available. Private veranda and patio areas for guest/s lead out to extensive shared garden, orchard and paddock with rustic woodshed containing hammocks and swings for chilling out and quiet space to enjoy natures abundance. Lucie is happy to offer guests a massage if a suitable appointment is available - at her standard fee of £35 for a 1 hour massage. Lucie & Phil live at Appleyard Barn and Lucie's in-laws (Marion & Dennis) in Sweetbriar Cottage - both neighboring the Bakery Annex. A member of the family can generally be found around the smallholding. We are always happy to help guests with problems, offer guidance, local information and suggestions. Located at approximately the mid point of a triangle formed by the three market towns of Dereham, Swaffham & Fakenham, the pleasant village of Tittleshall is at the heart of an area know locally as High Norfolk. Small country roads lead to Tittleshall. The cottage is located on the village's southern outskirts, set next to an ancient Roman highway - now a quiet overgrown lane, often full of pot holes. Lots of good local pubs, cafes and places to visit - please don't hesitate to ask for suggestions or local information. Nearest post-office stores are 2 miles away in the neighboring villages of Mileham or Litcham; supermarkets @ Dereham, Swaffham & Fakenham. The best way to get to the property is by car. Local taxi service can be recommended. Nearest train station is King's Lynn - approximately 25 mins drive. Closest mainline/regular buses from either Dereham, Swaffham or Fakenham. Bikes available to borrow. Lots of pleasant walks, local footpaths and meandering country lanes right on the doorstep. Please note that we are surrounded by working farms and farmland. We are blessed to be situated in a remarkably peaceful location but be aware that on occasions there are seasonal farming activities like harvesting, hedge-cutting, muck spreading and cultivating, going on around us. Also: Attic bedroom is accessed by steep staircase with restricted head height (see photos) - staircase has handrails each side but not suitable for the infirm/anyone with mobility issues.
