Secluded Farm Retreat

Set on a stunning 40 acre property with glorious panoramic views of the surrounding landscape - we are located just 90 minutes from Melbourne - tucked away in the foothills of Victoria’s spectacular Strzelecki Ranges. Spacious barn accommodation caters for groups of up to 28. We don't mix groups here so you will have the entire barn to yourself for the duration of your stay - with free access to all facilities. We host groups of families who are looking to get away and spend a relaxing time in the peace of the country. An opportunity for kids to see an alpaca, feed a goat and collect some eggs - and of course for parents to unwind, reconnect and take in the view. We're also an ideal venue for workshops, offering a unique space for work gatherings and corporate getaways. This venue is not suitable for loud all-night parties, as we live on-site (only 50 metres away). Our neighbours are a stone's throw and unfortunately sound tends to find its way to them quite easily. The barn boasts a pool room, ping-pong table, TV (with Chromecast), wood heater, couches for lounging, bar for tending, kitchen for cooking and board games for old-school entertainment. Outside, you'll find a volleyball net on the grass and a modest basketball court for shooting hoops. Of course - in summer you may spend all your time in the pool beside the undercover BBQ area or strolling around the farm. Bathrooms are under the same roof as the accommodation. Ladies and men's facilities - 2 toilets and 3 showers each. Additional accommodation ~ Cabin (sleeps 5) and Gypsy Wagon (sleeps 4) are available for separate hire. We live on site and will be there to greet you upon arrival and to show you around. No key access is required. There is plenty of parking next to the barn and additional vehicles can carry on down a very short track into an adjacent mowed field. For local provisions - there are supermarkets and food stores in the nearby town of Moe - just 10 minutes away. We live on the property and are always on hand to assist with any queries you may have. Happy to show you around the farm or leave you to wander and enjoy the space in privacy. Coalville is a small hamlet in the valley of the Narracan Creek - Gippsland, 7 km south of Moe and about 145 km east of Melbourne. We are a short drive to Narracan Falls, Edward Hunter Bush Reserve and Old Gippstown - Gippsland's Heritage Park. Sustainable produce is abundant in the area as well as the allure of local wineries, galleries and markets. Destinations such as the plateau of Mt Baw Baw and the picturesque historic gold-mining village of Walhalla are approximately an hour away. The region provides stunning scenery as you explore and wind your way through the countryside, whilst neighbouring towns such as Thorpdale, Mirboo North and Trafalgar are not too far away. For the adventurous - the heights of McDonalds Track through to Grand Ridge Road - Seaview deliver superb northern views across the valley and beyond. You will need a vehicle to reach the property and there is ample parking available. We are 10 minutes from Moe train station for access to and from Melbourne. Taxi services are also available in Trafalgar and Moe. Bedding - we provide fitted sheet, pillow and pillow case. Please bring your own doona or sleeping bag, towels and toiletries. Bedding can be provided at extra cost. Bathroom - we provide hand soap, hand towels and toilet paper. Water - All drinking water must be boiled first. * Coronavirus (COVID-19) In the event that a lockdown prevents you from fulfilling your booking - we will provide you with the choice of either changing your dates or cancelling and receiving a full refund. However, If restrictions allow you to visit but you simply change your mind - our normal refund policy applies. Working farm with Angora goat (Dorothy), Alpaca (Kahlúa), two Emus (Bella & Edwina) and loads of chooks. You can visit unstocked farm paddocks unescorted, or all paddocks of the 40 acres of farm escorted (we insist on escorting you to paddocks with stock in them to reduce stress to the animals and to keep you safe). Wombats, echidnas, wallabies, rosellas, cockatoos, galahs, kookaburras, magpies, boobook owls, wedge-tail eagles and king parrots are frequent visitors.
