Bedroom 1: With zip and link twin beds (can be super kingsize on request) and en-suite wet room with shower, toilet, shower seat, adjustable toilet seat and heated towel rail (jack and jill with bedroom 2). You will be able to enjoy the beautiful grounds with scenic views, the games room and the heated swimming pool. The cottages are all on the ground floor with no steps and wide doors throughout, and the flooring is non slip vinyl. Guests will be able to use the electric full height, adjustable profiling beds and Oxford Advance mobile hoists, however please bring your own sling or harness. All showers are wet rooms with grab rails, wheeled shower chairs, shower chair commode, toilet seat raisers and a shower screen. The kitchens have been specially designed with lowered surfaces, sinks and ovens. A dishwasher and a washer/dryer is also provided. Throughout the cottages the light switches and plug sockets are at an adjusted height to make them easy for anyone in a wheelchair to reach. There is a shared recreation room in the grounds with a large selection of games, books (including large print) a piano and guitars, sure to keep everyone entertained. There is a shared heated swimming pool with fully accessible changing rooms, showers and toilet. All around the pool there are grab rails and an Oxford Dipper Hoist, please bring your own sling or harness. The grounds offer a stunning view of the rolling countryside in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Perfect for dining al-fresco, having a barbecue or just reading a book. The cottages are located in rural Dorset so bringing your own vehicle is a must, particularly if you wish to explore the wonders which Dorset has to offer. There is a pub a short drive from the cottages which is suitable for wheelchair users. There are many wheelchair accessible activities a short drive away including the National Trust site of Brown Sea Island, where you might catch a glimpse of the elusive red squirrels. You need to get a boat from Poole, but this is wheelchair accessible. Perhaps travel to Swanage and get the steam train to Corfe Castle, or head to the beautiful town of Wimborne with its model scale of the town, as it looked in 1950. Visit the Tank Museum with the world’s best collection of tanks, or the Oceanarium in Bournemouth with penguins, sharks and turtles.
