If you like quirky, rustic charm this place is for you. Lathom is a historic area in rural west Lancashire. The country house and its estate go back centuries and played a key role in ancient battles. The chapel that still stands on the grounds of Lathom house was invaded by Oliver Cromwell. The Bullet holes can still be seen on the chapels altar today. The site goes all the way back to Roman times. Lots of significant archaeological items have been found from digs on the site in the past and more recently. A bus does run from. Preston to Wigan on briars lane. The nearest train station (Burscough Bridge) is just over a mile away. The line runs from Southport to Manchester. Local taxis are really good and reasonably priced. It's best to have a car to see the entire local area though. Bedroom 1 has a double bed Bedroom 2 has a three quarter bed. If you plan to have more than 4 guests please inform Adrian in advance.
