Hexham - beautiful country house

Greetings and welcome to Northumberland. My home is a handsome 19th century stone-built Northumbrian house with a beautiful garden, set in rolling countryside just 40 minutes from Newcastle for station and airport with links to Scotland and London and the south. Facilities for shooting and fishing parties are available. Picnics can be provided - pre-booking essential (two weeks in advance). Please ask for details. Guests have a separate area consisting of a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a guest bathroom with wc, basin, bath and shower over bath. You will be provided with everything you need to make a hot drink including coffee machine, kettle etc as well as a small fridge. Both guest bedrooms have locks. A substantial continental breakfast will be available in the dining room or, weather permitting, outside on the terrace. You are welcome to use the washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board when needed. Guests can enjoy spending time in the garden and watch the wildlife in the pond which is full of fish and frogs. The pond is behind a fence and accessible through a bolted gate. One well behaved dog is welcome to stay. Please mention this when booking. Another double bedroom is also available (an extra £35 per person per night including breakfast). I have a charming dog Cara who is always available for cuddles! All areas are thoroughly cleaned between guests and a bathroom is available for hand washing on arrival. Guests will have access to the garden, utility room (with washing machine and tumble dryer), dining room for breakfast, guest bedroom and bathroom. I live on the property and will be available to provide any help and information my guests may require. If I am away someone will be on hand to provide assistance if needed. The village is set in rolling countryside and has a shop and petrol station, a charming pub with good food and local beers within walking distance and plenty of walks including the river South Tyne. Hadrian's Wall is just a short drive away. We are only minutes from the market town of Hexham with its historic abbey, restaurants, independent shops, pubs, cinema, theatre, supermarkets, leisure centre, parks and twice-weekly cattle market. There is a local bus service (Mon-Sat) but a car is necessary. Hexham has a train station with regular services to Newcastle and Carlisle. Newcastle airport and train station are both 40 minutes away. On arrival you will find a comprehensive pack containing information on local attractions including Northumberland, Newcastle, Durham, the coast and surrounding areas.
