Quiet and scenic, elevated hillside 40 acre farm, with expansive views of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park forest and waters of the Manukau Harbour. Guests can walk our own property enjoy our bush. The beaches of Cornwallis, Huia and Whatipu are close by. We built a modern, self-contained guest studio so guests can relax and unwind in quality self-contained comfort after a day experiencing the outstanding natural and rural environment of our area. Underfloor heating is used in winter. Quiet, scenic and comfortable. We have developed our accommodation with couples in mind, a place to relax and reconnect with each other in a comfortable spacious well appointed and fully equipped studio apartment. All on one level, with parking at the door. A fully functional kitchen with oven, microwave, cook-top, dishwasher and servery (continental breakfast ingredients supplied). You can choose to simply read a book on the deck whilst sitting in the sun or contemplate the views by day or stars at night, while drinking wine in the spa pool . We designed the apartment with large windows to draw the outside views and vistas inside, so the comfort and character of the place is just as captivating on a rainy day. Some people say this studio apartment exhibits its best character in raw, rainy West Coast weather. Secure parking for one vehicle to the side of front door and plenty of room to turn. A sizable private deck to eat, sit and relax. A shared in-ground outdoor spa pool with 180° views is available from 10.am to 11.pm every day. The pool is close to the main residence, but only 12m from the guest apartment. Guests are welcome to walk over our private 40 acre property (but must keep in mind it is an operational farm). Interaction with guests can be limited to the industry normal for a motel situation, but guests are invited to join in with daily farming activities if they so desire. This includes accompanying when feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs, and shifting cattle to seasonal activities like shearing sheep and making hay. Our property is neighboured on all sides by private and public parkland, there are walks through the forests that range from only half an hour to all day excursions. There are calm beaches and inlets of the Manukau Harbour, or the raw westerly wind swept Tasman Sea coastal sands and lagoons to explore. Alfreds Huia Food Store Café (with a good reputation) is only a 30 minute walk or 5 minute car ride away. It is best to have a car, walking is possible but you need to be aware there a lots of hills and uneven ground so a reasonable standed of fitness would be necessary. Restaurants, arts and crafts are only a 30 minute scenic drive away in Titirangi Village, nestled at the southern end of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. Alfreds Huia Store, our local cafe is a five-minute drive or 30 minute walk.
