The Neighborhood: Downtown Roanoke, Virginia The west end of downtown Roanoke boasts three local breweries within a few blocks, numerous fantastic restaurants, and event venues. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to the main downtown area, so it provides easy access to all downtown has to offer with a little less hustle & bustle. Getting Around: Roanoke is a relatively walkable and bike-friendly city and we'd love to show you how to get around without a car (we do run a bike shop, after all). However, to access some of the fabulous outdoor recreational experiences we have here, access to a car is pretty useful. The heart of Downtown is 4 blocks east on Campbell ave.
