Lowlands Cottage is a superb renovated detached holiday property retaining many of the traditional features including its oak ships timber beams, which are many hundreds of years old & is complimented with solid oak furniture throughout to continue the authentic theme. Located in a quiet Broadland village among open countryside and within walking distance of the old market town of Beccles on the picturesque banks of the river Waveney, this is an ideal adult only property to relax & unwind. Situated in the sleepy village of Gillingham, Lowlands cottage is just a mile away from the traditional market town of Beccles and the gateway to the Norfolk Broads. The village has a local pub with a restaurant serving wholesome home cooked food a short 5 minute walk away and a hairdresser/beauty salon for all your pampering needs is located nearby. Why not take a day boat out from the Waveney River Centre, or canoe from Hipperson’s boat yard to the Locks Inn pub in the village of Geldeston. Walk by the river in to Beccles and visit the Waveney Hotel and enjoy a drink by the Broads watching the boats large and small go by or sit & savour afternoon tea in one of several tea rooms located in the town. Stroll the beautiful award winning white sand beaches of Lowestoft and stop at the Thatch Cottage for lunch on the promenade, or head a little further south to the beaches in Southwold for a sea food supper at the Sail Loft or visit Southwold's Adnams brewery. Alternatively, the historic city of Norwich with its cobbled quaint side streets and market is only 30 minuets away catering for all the food and culture you could wish for. Visit the castle or the City's beautiful old Theatre Royal. You could of course just enjoy the peace of the cottage and stroll down to our local pub, The Swan Motel for a beer and a bite. Either way you are assured of a warm welcome from Britain’s friendliest area. There are many attractions, pubs, restaurants & tea rooms and places to visit, on foot, cycling, by car or by hopping on one of the many local buses. Excellent transport links via public transport are within a short walking distance of the cottage and offer regular services to the award winning beaches of Lowestoft, Southwold & Gt Yarmouth and the historic city of Norwich. The area is renown for it's numerous scenic walking and cycling paths and routes through uninterrupted peaceful country lanes, & bridleways bordering on to the Norfolk Broads
