Little Span Farm occupies the western slopes of the Rew Valley providing some magnificent views of the Island and the English Channel. Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it currently runs as an attractive grassland farm with grazing sheep and used to be part of the Appuldurcombe Estate. Today it can offer a choice of self-catering accommodation, as there are four separate stone buildings dating from the 17th Century, all of which are maintained to a good standard with attractive and comfortable furnishings. Span Farm House is Dog friendly and able to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests, Perfect for family get together's it's the largest of the four properties available at the farm. This attractive six bedroom stone farmhouse, has accommodation over three floors with an array of period features including fine fireplaces and benefits from superb views over its land and the surrounding Rew Valley. The area is a firm favourite with cyclists, walkers and ramblers due to its close proximity to the southern tip of the island, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Your stay will allow you to relax and unwind as Little Span Farm is surrounded by beautiful downland and woods owned by the National Trust providing fabulous views that stretch for miles with a glimpse of the Victorian town of Ventnor in the distance, which should entice you to travel a mere mile where you can eat the locally caught fish or sample the locally brewed ale and see the harbour beach and shops. The rural location offers easy access to many miles of foot and bridle paths over the lovely countryside that surrounds the village, the historical Appuldurcombe House with ornamental gardens designed by Capability Brown is just a mile stroll from the cottage as well as the renowned Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. you can walk across the downs from the Farm to say hello to the animals who have been given a home there and experience the peace and tranquillity that surrounds them. The Farm is also located close by to the popular Red Squirrel Trail which has 32 miles of mostly traffic-free cycling and walking along the old railway line through the heart of the Islands beautiful countryside. A half hour car journey brings you to Blackgang Chine, A family attraction with amusements for everyone or travel to the coastal towns of Shanklin and nearby Sandown and see the Pier, lovely golden beaches and maybe go for a swim, With so much to see and the perfect accommodation at Little Span Farm you're sure to have a thoroughly good break on the Isle of Wight. NB. Please note: We do not accept hen or stag parties at the Farm This property can be booked alongside Garden Cottage, Well Cottage and Shepherds Cottage, to accommodate up to 22 guests across all properties.
