This spacious family home is a perfect base to explore the south coast being close to Chichester, Portsmouth and Hayling Island. On your door step are some of the best dog walking routes in the area, plus access to the sea for paddle boarding, canoeing and wind surfing. With a wealth of attractions nearby including Goodwood Racecourse, Fishbourne Roman Palace and the Weald and Downland open air museum - home of the BBC's The Repair shop - there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained! The space Our well kept family home has a cozy living room with Sky TV, large kitchen with dining table and a bright conservatory with bi-fold doors that open out to a mature garden. Upstairs there are three spacious bedrooms, a master with a king bed, a second with a double and a third with two single beds. There is also a snug with access to Sky TV and has a sofa bed. There is parking for up to 3 cars on the drive way and the garden is fully secure. A few yards away there is a friendly pub that serves great food. There is also an excellent farm shop selling local produce just a few moments walk away. Across the road and down the foot path you will have access to the coast where you can walk for miles in either direction and be surrounded by nature. If you are more adventurous there is a public slip way making this a great spot for water sports including SUP, wind surfing and canoeing. Guest access Public transport is wonderfully convenient from the house - the train station is a few minutes walk away and bus stops are on the main road outside with regular services connecting you everywhere from Portsmouth to Brighton. Trains running east connect you to Chichester and Brighton, with London being only an hour and a half away. Running west they take you towards Portsmouth and Southampton. TODO: CHICHESTER CITY This is a wonderful cathedral city with lots of pubs and restaurants, a superb theatre, and shops with character. THE WEALD AND DOWNLAND MUSEUM This is a huge mostly open air museum of all things historical. It is dog friendly and it’s where they film THE REPAIR SHOP. If you’re lucky you’ll get to see them filming!! THE AMBERLEY CHALK PITS MUSEUM This is another great open air museum specializing in our industrial past. GOODWOOD is a national treasure. Glorious Goodwood in June is one of England’s premier horse racing venues. And don’t forget the famous Festival of Speed, the Revival weekend and the beautiful Goodwood House. The golf course is notable too. KINGLEY VALE, just outside Chichester has superb country walks and great views of the coast and Hampshire. It also has one of the oldest yew tree forests in Europe, tree that may have been growing in Roman times, 2,000 years ago. This is an absolute must - it’s like walking on the set of Lord of the Rings! THE WITTERINGS provide lovely sandy beaches and seaside amenities. FISHBOURNE has the famous Roman Palace, a real must if you’re into history. BOSHAM is noted for its idyllic Harbour and wonderful walks. SOUTHBOURNE on our doorstep is endowed with a local pub just yards away from the house which serves good food. There is an excellent farm shop over the road as well as a local co-op, doctors and chemist. EMSWORTH is one and a half miles away and is a town of real historic importance. Wonderful harbours, pubs and restaurants are plenty. HAYLING ISLAND provides sandy beaches and seaside amenities. PORTSMOUTH This large vibrant city is home to several famous landmarks including the Spinnaker Tower and the Historic Dockyard. You MUST visit the amazing MARY ROSE museum, the VICTORY - Nelson’s flagship, and the WARRIOR, the first English iron clad warship. Also don’t miss the D DAY museum in SOUTHSEA as well as the sea front and Henry the eighth’s castle there. Portsmouth has everything you’d associate with a great waterfront city, including GUNWHARF QUAYS which is recently developed and is full of shops and restaurants etc. You can get a hovercraft from SOUTHSEA over to the ISLE OF WIGHT or visit the great castle at PORCHESTER. Maybe go to the top of PORTSDOWN HILL to see the Napoleonic forts and see wonderful views over the city. There is so much to do there! WINCHESTER is another great cathedral city not far away. Other things to note This property is professionally managed by Pass the Keys which means guests have access to a 24 hour dedicated support line, professional and thorough cleans between stays, hotel quality linen, bath and hand towels and hotel style toiletries. Check in from 4pm and check out at 11am. We can offer travel cots, high chairs for a small fee - please advise when booking.
