The house, small and cozy, was the home of the Impressionist painter Eliseu Meifrèn (Barcelona 1859). In 1886 Eliseu decides to settle in Cadaqués. A few years later, in 1911, he is appointed adoptive son as a result of his close relationship with the villagers. A year later he decides to buy this house where he spends long periods, in the midst of multiple trips abroad to attend his exhibitions, until he reaches 1940, the year of his death. The house collapses and is sucked into the undergrowth. It was not until 1998 when the rubble was discovered and the reconstruciton procedures were started based on two photographs and paintings made by the artist himself. Like this they guarantee its original form. Today these paintings are part of the collection of the Sociedad la Amistad cultural association, also known as the Casino de Cadaqués.
