St Andrews is one of those very special and unique places to stay in the Cotswolds. The home is a former missionary chapel built in 1886, and converted into a private three bedroom family home in 1985. The home is situated just a few minutes walk to the centre of the town of Woodstock, gateway to the Cotswolds and home to Blenheim Palace. There are numerous architectural features which make your stay in this home totally unique - from thick stone walls, solid oak floors and doors, to the arched windows with stunning views over Woodstock and surrounding countryside. Just across the road from the home is a public footpath entrance to Blenheim Park. Very soon after entering the park you have an amazing view of the lakes and Blenheim Palace. ABOUT ST ADREWS HOLIDAY COTTAGE IN WOODSTOCK Our home comprises of; Ground floor: -Open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has modern top-of-the-range appliances including dishwasher, double oven, gas hob, fridge-freezer. -Dining area with dining table and seating for six. -Living room with comfortable sofa, easy chairs and wide screen TV. -Gas fire links the living room to dining area. -Utility room with washing machine and dryer. -Small bathroom with WC and wash basin. -Bedroom one features built in wardrobes, super-king size bed and stunning views over the countryside. -Bedroom two has a double bed and clothes hanging space. -Bedroom three has a king size bed and views towards the public footpath entrance to Blenheim Park. -Bathroom one with marble walls and bath with shower over the bath. -Bathroom two with marble walls and walk-in shower. -Central heating and WiFi -Good housekeeping bond payable of £400. OUTSIDE AREA AND GARDEN There is a private patio area accessible from the side of the house. There is out door furniture and seating available. RESTRICTIONS -The home is located in a quiet residential area. It is not suitable as a party house -No single sex groups for hen or stag parties -Sorry but no pets -No commercial vehicles permitted PARKING There is ample parking for two vehicles. Parking of commercial vehicles is not permitted. ABOUT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Woodstock makes the perfect holiday destination or base for Oxford city centre. Woodstock has enormous historical interest with the magnificent Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill, located in the centre, just two minutes walk from the house. Visitors to the palace can take a walk around the 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland and beautiful formal gardens or take a picnic by the great lake. There are over ten small restaurants and pubs within two minutes walk of the property, ranging from reasonably priced Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants to silver service in the well known Feathers and Bear hotels. Blenheim Palace Gate is also a two minute walk. The property is a five minute walk from Woodstock Museum, which boasts a beautiful garden and home made cakes and lunches in it's ever-popular museum cafe. The nearest grocery shopping is the Woodstock Co-op which is ten minutes walk. You also have a Sainsbury's within a ten minute drive. Woodstock is situated about 10 km from the city of Oxford. There is a regular bus service that departs every 30 minutes or so. The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a short drive away and you are in the picturesque villages of Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Norton in just 20 minutes or so. Oxford Parkway Station is 4 km away with quick direct train service to London Marylebone.
