Romantic townhouse in vaison la romaine
Romantic town-house in centre of Vaison-la-romaine with 22 sqm outside terrace!
The location of the house is in the very centre of Vaison-la-Romaine but very calm. The house is build on the rocks, and origins back to the 15th century (!), therefore being one of the oldest houses in Vaison. It is situated in a pleasant alley with flowers and plants. A unique feature of our town-house is the sunny south-south-west faced outdoor terrace of 21 sqm! This is indeed very rare within the centre of a village like Vaison. The house itself (70 sqm in total) has in fact three stories, the cave being the lowest story, is carved-out in the rocks and has also a separate storage room with secured access (ideal for placing safely bicycles).. As of end of August 2016 we have installed (reversible) air conditioning for the group floor and the upper floor where the bedroom is. This ensures that the house stays cool in summer and warm in winter. In the living we installed a fireplace (insert using pellets) which makes it extremely comfortable in autumn and winter. The house is accessed at the second story through the main door to the terrace. The terrace is south faced and has a phenomenal view towards the historical 'haut ville'. You will no doubt appreciate the lounge chairs, plants and bbq we placed on the terrace. We took special care of the interior design of the house. The cosy small living has a Vincent Sheppard couch, a flatscreen TV with all available internet TV channels through an Orange box, Canaldigitaal satellite reception for all Dutch/Belgian channels and hundreds others and AppleTV. Throughout the house free Wifi is available. The main part of the ground floor (actually the first story) is taken by the kitchen. As this is a central place of the house we took special care to make it a cosy 'living' kitchen. With all new appliances (2015) like a Liebherr fridge with separate freezer, Siemens stove/5 burners, separate oven, Nespresso machine, washing machine, you will enjoy all of today's comforts. On the first floor (2nd story), we have a little hall, the master bedroom with two new comfortable boxspring beds (2 x 90/200), a separate bathroom completely renewed with marble (2017) with comfortable shower and toilet. Since 2012 a local architect has been in charge to renovate the entire house in style. A complete new roof has been placed, all walls are now 'en-pierre' and the ceilings have been renovated. Furthermore all pluming and electrical wiring is new. An interior decorator finished the interior, with style and attention for detail. All floors have the original antique tomettes except for the kitchen where it was necessary to install a new (colorful) floor. Vaison-la-Romaine was a prosperous Roman town: the rich homes and the quality of the decoration that can still be admired today are evidence of this opulent period. The Roman bridge, a major architectural monument, connects the lower town to the upper medieval town. Our house, maison vaison, is ideally situated right in the historical centre of Vaison-la- Romaine, two-steps away from this famous 'Pont Roman'. From the cosy terrace you have astonishing views to the historical 'haut village' with its castle. Maison Vaison is one of the oldest houses in Vasion-la- Romaine, its history dates back to app. 1460!! During the past 2-years it has been restored with respect to details.
