Gite (Le Pic Vert) with pool and fishing lake.

Situated in the heart of the beautiful and unspoilt Limousin region of France, our family friendly holiday gite offers the discerning visitor a high standard of accommodation and provides an ideal base from which to explore the charm and beauty of this part of France. Le Moulin de Chez Brandy is a small estate set in 15 acres of rolling parkland with woodland walks, picnic areas and a private fishing lake. The main house is a renovated 1860's watermill which is where we live. Our gites are located in a separate single story building which allows guests complete privacy during their holiday but we offer help and advice at any time should it be required. We have two gites each of which has two bedrooms, and we can also provide sofa beds and cots if required. The area is a wildlife paradise with some 45 species of birds identified to date, and butterflies abound. The 15th century château town of Rochechouart is just a 10 minute drive away and has a range of restaurants and shops. It is the centre of what is known as the Meteroite region where some 200 million years ago a meteorite of 1.5km diameter and weighing some 6 billion tons struck the earth. There is a museum in the centre of the town with samples of rock, photos and videos, and it is the only museum of its kind in France. At Le Moulin, we offer activities for the family including indoor and outdoor games areas with table tennis, darts, and board games, and there are bikes to hire. New for this year is an outdoor games/picnic area which is easily accessible from the swimming pool, and which has volleyball and badminton nets plus a small football goal. Both gites have a selection of DVD's and books for the use of guests. Our 1.5 acre fishing lake is available for use by arrangement, and is stocked with carp and silver fish (see our website for further details). We have some items of tackle for use by guests and there is a secure storage area for fishing tackle with a freezer for bait. Included in our rental prices are full use of all our facilities, pool, lake, gas, internet, electricity and the new 3% Taxe de Sejour (tourist tax). Excluded are travel insurance and the (returnable) breakage deposit of £100. Our week runs from 4pm Saturday to 10am Sunday (early arrival and flexible changeover day may be possible by prior arrangement).
