Dalehead Tarn Lodge is situated in a tranquil woodland estate that incorporates onsite leisure facilities with a swimming pool, a sauna, games area, laundry, and a small shop. The site attracts a spectacular array of wildlife, including red squirrels, deer and a wonderful variety of birds. A short distance from the self-catering lodge is the beautiful Loughrigg Tarn (a view featured in the famous Miss Potter film). The Lodges sits higher than many of the other lodges and therefore benefits from superb views through the trees, onto the fells beyond. The lodge has been beautifully improved and upgraded in recent times and now offers a superb fitted kitchen alongside the bright open plan living area. Two bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, a bathroom and two car parking spaces. The lodge is surrounded by a spacious decking area and a large wild-garden plot behind. Accommodation Summary: Kitchen - Also the main entrance to the property - Beautiful kitchen area with a range of wall and base units with complementary work surfaces and having a stainless steel sink with mixer tap and drainer and a range of integrated Baumatic appliances including an electric 4 ring hob, an electric oven, a microwave, an automatic dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. Living Room - Open plan with the kitchen and dining area, incorporating a comfy sofa, a single chair, electric fire, flatscreen TV with DVD, large windows looking to the surrounding woodland and views to the fells and having glazed double doors giving access to the exterior decking and garden. There is a Creda night storage heater. Bedroom 1 - With a double bed, built-in storage and dressing table with mirror, a wall-mounted electric heater and external shutters on the windows. Views to the side aspect. Bedroom 2 - With two single beds, built-in storage and a dressing table; a wall mounted electric heater and external shutters on the windows. Views to the side aspect. Bathroom - Three-piece suite comprising a three quarter sized bath with Mira Sport shower over, a wash hand basin with light, mirror and shaver point over and storage cupboard below and a WC. There is also an opaque window, a towel rail and a wall-mounted electric heater. Outside - Situated on a large plot, the lovely decked area is perfect for peaceful relaxation whilst enjoying glimpses of the surrounding fellside through the natural woodland. There is also an external shed and areas of natural shrubbery and woodland to the front and rear of the property. The gardens and communal grounds attract a wide variety of birdlife as well as red squirrels.Leisure Facilities: Guests have complimentary use of the leisure facilities, just a short stroll from the lodge. There is a swimming pool, changing facilities, a seating area, a table tennis area, a small sauna, and a communal laundry with an automatic washing machine and a tumble dryer. (The Pool Hall is open daily from the start of March to the end of October)Things To Note: Weekly arrivals welcome from a Friday. One well-behaved dog is welcome free of charge. Additional dogs by arrangement at a cost of £10.00 per dog per stay. WiFi is available for guests with download speeds of approx 10Mb/s. The dog-friendly garden area is enclosed, but not escape-proof.About The Location Neaum Crag Estate is a superbly peaceful environment situated within an established woodland with towering trees, roaming wildlife, including red squirrels and roe deer, and the central location is ideal for exploring the South Lakes including Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere. A bus stop is found at the bottom of the lane which makes it easy to explore without the car. Within a 5-minutes walk is Skelwith Bridge, home to the popular vegan Chesters Cafe, the Slate Gallery and the Skelwith Hotel and Talbot Bar, popular with walkers who enjoy the outside seating. From Skelwith is a wonderful walk along the River Brathay leading to Elterwater and Elterwater Village.
