We are pleased to welcome you to Domaine du Château Monciaux, near Bourrou (a small dynamic village), on the road to Manzac-sur-Vern in a bucolic and green. Less than half an hour from the railway stations and airports of Bergerac and Périgueux, just an hour and a quarter from the regional capital of Bordeaux, the Monciaux castle is ideally located in the heart of Périgord, a department rich in historical heritage (cities and castles), prehistoric (caves and shelters) but also famous for its gastronomy (truffles, foie gras and wines will satisfy your taste buds among other things - weekly organic market on Bourrou, open all year round - shops and market in Villamblard 7 kms). The castle will welcome you for an exceptional holiday. A former 18th century hunting lodge, remodeled and enlarged in the 19th century to become the Château de Monciaux, a historic residence of the De La Fargue and Du Jonchay families. Following a change of owners and a total renovation in 2017, the castle combines today the charm of an old house and all the modern comforts to offer you a unique experience in an atmosphere where the refinement, the charm and the serenity will ensure you rest and well-being. The castle is located in the heart of a wooded and hilly area of ​​6 hectares, the main building of 500 m² is composed of 7 suites with private bathrooms and toilets, which can accommodate up to 16 people (children and adults), the babies are also welcome. Note that on request we provide our guests all the necessary equipment for babies: beds, sheets, changing tables, high chairs, bathtubs, baby cook, etc. In order to make the most of your stay, you will also have on the ground floor 2 large lounges, a dining room that can accommodate 16 guests in its main part, a rear dining room that can accommodate 6 people. plus (located in the adjoining south-west tower), as well as a fully equipped semi-professional kitchen (large professional oven, American fridge, dishwasher, kettle, espresso machine, toaster, microwave, robot of kitchen, necessary to cakes, etc.) and decorated with a functional fireplace of origin in stones of size. Outside, the castle is surrounded by 2 terraces, equipped with BBQ and various garden furniture and of course a large secure pool and heated. An internet connection, hi-fi, satellite TV (French and English channels) are also available to our guests. In addition, the castle is equipped with an anti-intrusion alarm and fire alarms with fire extinguishers at each level. The thickness of the walls of the castle will guarantee a pleasant freshness during the summer months as well as a comforting heat during the winter months. In the park with bicentennial trees, lined with wood you can enjoy in peace the large pool 12x6m heated and completely secure (automatic shutter and barriers). Deckchairs and umbrellas and pool towels that we put at your disposal will allow you to relax after your excursions. Play areas for the youngest (giant trampoline, swings and slide) but also for older children (petanque, ping-pong, football, volleyball, badminton) will also allow you to relax. Also note that the area of ​​the Sudrie equestrian center equipped with an Olympic arena is only 2 kilometers. Hiking trails are also accessible from the castle park. Need a babysitter? All our suites are spacious and enjoy a refined and delicate decoration, high ceilings, some still have antique fireplaces. Our bedding is new and luxurious quality. In order to offer you the best possible comfort, your beds will be made upon arrival and made of cotton satin sheets. Five suites are on the first floor and two more are on the second floor. They all have a private bathroom (or shower room) and their own WC (the castle has 9 toilets).
