Artist's apartment in medieval town in Tuscany

Based in the historic town of Anghiari in a rural and quiet part of Tuscany, this beautiful 14th century apartment boasts fantastic views and is within 2 minutes of the main piazza. The apartment is located on the second floor in the historical centre of town. There is a generous entrance hallway. Huge wooden beams span the entire width of the building. The apartment is painted white and tiles throughout. The apartment is has two double bedrooms. The master bedroom at the front of the apartment has a double bed and two bedside tables with reading lights. There is also a dresser and large mirror. This room also has a large wardrobe in addition to the dresser. There are french windows that open out onto one of the piazza's. The second bedroom has two twin beds, a bedside table and lighting. There is a mirror and a large wardrobe also. All linen is white and fresh, with pillows and throws across each bed. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower, a bidet, toilet and washbasin with vanity mirror and lighting. There is also a washing machine for use to guests in the bathroom. Towels are also provided, as is toilet paper. The kitchen is large and spacious, there is a fridge freezer, a microwave/oven and a separate electric oven and 4 gas ring hob. A grill also within the oven. There are utensils and cooking dishes. The kitchen table seats four and will extend to more (clips underneath) as required. There is a sofa and rug in the kitchen for guests to relax and chat as they wish. There is also a stove, not currently in operation as we need to find a supply of wood, we will update on this. Then there is a large living area with two further sofas, and tables and rugs with extra lighting as needed. There are huge arched windows in both the kitchen and the living area overlooking the town below with stunning views of the the local countryside and clock tower. The views are truly stunning. The apartment faces west and so the sunshine in the afternoon and evening is glorious. There are picture postcard views of the campanile, the town and the landscape beyond. This Artists's apartment can be enjoyed any time of year, depending on your tastes. There is a huge variety of events throughout the Calendar year to be enjoyed from music and art, to food, wine and... cycling! 31st April to 1st May - Arts and Craft Show of Tuscany, showcasing local artists and craft makers from around the region. 29th June - Il Palio della Vittoria - This is a running race up the hill to Anghiari, but it many ways it's so much more than that (see pictures). July to August - A food market every Wednesday with fresh local produce from producers. Fantastic fresh local vegetables to delicious cheeses and breads. It's best to get up early, take a coffee in the local bar and take in the sights and smells. Fresh roasting chickens and croquettes, salami's, hams. 20th - 26th July - The Southbank Sinfonia settles in Anghiari this week and showcases symphonic, chamber and choral music played in the local piazza's and surrounding churches. Not to be missed! The town takes on another dimension when the festival is on. The atmosphere is intense and it really is a wonderful week. Every two years they are joined by operatic singers. The final evening is always celebrated with a huge concert and then afterwards there are celebrations and everyone joins in. 10th - 19th August - The checked tablecloth. In the centre of the town there are huge long tables where guests and residents can join and eat together with recitals and music. It really is a soul-lifting experience like no other. October TBA - L'intrepida - The bicycle race! All is traditional costume for more information see www.lintredipa.it 29th October - 1,2 November (TBA). 100 tastes of the Apennines. Many producers from near and far set up stalls, selling cheese, wine, truffles and more tuscan delights. 11th November - The Bringoli Festival. In short, a pasta festival. Anghiari has it's own pasta, bringoli, a thick spaghetti. The main piazza opens up to celebrate this event, with braziers and marquees. Different sauces and local wines. 8th December - 9th January. Christmas in Anghiari. Concerts and celebrations during the Christmas and New Year period.
