Our units are cleaned thoroughly after each guest with disinfectants that are effective against coronavirus and  many other bacteria and viruses. You can also rest assured knowing that there is no carpet (in our bunkhouses), no shared hallways, no elevators, contactless check in and our rooms all open directly to the great outdoors! Started in 2016 and finishing in 2018, Zion’s Camp and Cottages was made especially to meet the needs of guests to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. We have been in the vacation rental business for over ten years and have learned what you like. We believe we have delivered a product that offers an outstanding value, with a balance of comfort, coupled with environmental responsibility. We have taken some new ideas and meshed them with those of other hospitality facilities. For example, we leave the linens for the bunk beds in a storage container, so if you have your own bedding or sleeping bag you can use those and we save precious water and resources.We have had a tremendous response with guests pleased with the setting, the simple furnishings, and the value - having our kitchenettes, giving them the ability to save money on meals. Our property is just shy of three acres. Each bunkhouse has a king sized bed and a set of bunk beds (pillows included). Each also has a full bathroom, TV, WiFi, full size fridge, microwave, and AC/Heat. They also include a hair dryer, blender, crockpot, toaster, rice cooker, coffee maker, and cooler for your use. There is no oven or stove, however, we do have an outdoor communal food prep area where you can set up your own camp stove or use one of the several charcoal or propane barbecues onsite, on a first come, first serve basis(charcoal is not provided, propane is). We’ve made an effort to make the property as environmentally friendly as possible. The property is powered by 96 solar panels, which is enough to supply all the energy we need. The water heaters in the bunkhouses are electric (no natural gas required) and each bunkhouse has a high efficiency air conditioner and heater that are super efficient and quiet, to make your stay as comfortable and as low impact as possible. The buildings are also outfitted with high efficiency LED lighting to reduce energy consumption. We also use “green” cleaning supplies and cleaners to reduce the impact on humans and the environment. The water for the lawn and plants is pressurized irrigation water, which does not take away from the culinary drinking water in the area. The bunkhouses are set up with two per building, so if you have a larger group you can rent two units and use the connecting door. This is a beautiful piece of land with a grove of large cottonwood trees as its centerpiece. We are constantly improving the property by adding more plants and trees to attract birds and other wildlife. Outside you will find hammock posts for you to set up your own hammock and enjoy the stars. We try to have minimal outdoor lighting to preserve the tranquility of the night sky. We are located off the main highway, so it is relatively quiet. The neighborhood is a mixture of older homes and newer ones. La Verkin is a small town located about 20 minutes from the entrance to Zion National Park. The scenery on the short trip to Zion is beautiful, so the short drive is not a sacrifice. We have a great grocery store, a couple of gas stations and an excellent coffee shop, which serves meals as well. We are located next to Hurricane, which has fast food places, Walmart, movie theatre, restaurants etc. If you need more than that, we are about 25 minutes from St. George, which has much more. If you are also going to Bryce National Park, you will have a drive of a little over two hours. Many of our guests use our place as a home base to visit both of these amazing parks. Bryce Canyon is a little more isolated than our area and that seems to be one of the reasons they use La Verkin as a base of operations. When you visit Southern Utah, you are guaranteed to see spectacular sights with plenty of places to go and things to do.
