Bright one-bedroom unit steps from the vibrant Shaw neighborhood. Only a 4-minute walk to Shaw-Howard Metro Station (Green/Yellow Lines). Enjoy Shaw restaurants and coffee shop gems; trader joes and whole foods just a 2-minute drive away. Brisk walks to the U Street Corridor, and Logan Circle. 15-20 minute walk to the National Mall and City Center. PARKING: Street Parking is available only. Please be cognitive of street parking restrictions based on day/time/zoning. The closest parking garage is a 12-minute walk from the apartment. CITY LIFE: The apartment is located on a busy street and is in close proximity to the Howard University Hospital as well as a fire station. The noise level can be louder than usual, especially on the weekends. For your comfort, I have provided earplugs. Grab a pair to use for the duration of your stay. SAFETY: For the safety of our guests, the property does have security cameras above the front door and in the entrance hallway. The apartment is equipped with a Fire Extinguisher, First Aid Kit, and a retractable Fire Escape Ladder. BALCONY: The balcony access is in the living room. Please be aware that there is a heightened area without rails. The back area is secured with an iron gate so there is no public access behind our buildings. *Please keep noise to a minimum after 11:00 PM if on the balcony.* CONSUMABLES: Complimentry Coffee, Tea, and snacks are available to all guests. TOILETRIES: Shampoo, Body Wash, Toothpaste, and bathroom basics are available to all guests. WORK FROM HOME: Workspace is available for guests looking to work from home, away from home. HOW TO GET AROUND / RECOMMENDATIONS: The apartment is located just steps from great restaurants, bars, and sites. • Shaw – Howard University Metro, access to the green and yellow line, is located on 7th and S Street NW. • Closest Capital Bike Share: New Jersey Ave & R Street NW or 7th and T Street NW (one block from Metro) • Bus Transportation: Please check online through the WMATA website for bus times/destinations. My go-to’s for food nearby: • The Royal DC – just a block away, a great place to grab a cup of coffee and breakfast. If you go for dinner, Fried Chicken Sandwich is my fav! • Shaw’s Tavern – local bar for drinks and burgers • El Techo – great tacos and margaritas; great weekend rooftop parties too. • BKK Cookshop for the best Thai food • Right Proper Brewing Company • Capo Italian Deli • Ben’s Chilli Bowl – a staple of D.C. HOUSE RULES: Please refrain from wearing shoes on the carpets. If it has been raining or shoes are muddy, please do not go inside the apartment without removing shoes first. No pets allowed.
