Enjoy relaxing or eating in the cottage garden whilst watching the birdlife. Public footpath walks and cycle route 30 start from the cottage door. The historic pretty seaside towns of Sheringham, 4½ miles, and Cromer, 5 miles, have cliffs, beaches, beach huts, traditional and trendy shops, cafès, restaurants and pubs. Local crabs, lobsters, samphire and game can be bought in season. Culture abounds with museums, art galleries, musical events and much more. Of the many activities to enjoy close by in Sheringham are the North Norfolk Railway steam trains and events, including Thomas the Tank Engine, 1940’s weekend etc. Other events include Sheringham Carnival, Crab and Lobster Festival, and Potty Festival (Morris dancing), Sheringham Park Rhododendron walk and the Little Theatre cultural events. Easily accessed from the cottage, Cromer has many activities to enjoy. Visit the pier, a popular place for crabbing, lifeboat station and Seaside Show. Fishing boats are still launched from the Gangway beside the RNLI Henry Blogg Lifeboat Museum. Fun can be had at the surf/paddle board school located on the promenade. Cromer Carnival and Crab and Lobster Festival have many events to enjoy. Beautiful North Norfolk has much to offer, including family friendly beaches with rock pools for children with nets and buckets. Walk the Norfolk Coastal Path and enjoy the wide skies and amazing views of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visiting the seals on Blakeney Point is great fun.
