Maison on the Mount is the perfect location for a holiday rental, in the heart of the leafy country village of Mt Macedon. With a café across the road for great coffee and breakfast, 100 metre walk to the pub for dinner, close to walking tracks, wineries, tourist attractions, nurseries, gardens, and right on the main road for cyclists. This beautiful two storey French-style home is set on stunning English gardens, with 100 year old evergreen oaks on all 4 sides of the property. Many rare and exotic plants, influenced heavily by Stephen Ryan: blood maples, honeysuckle hedge, extensive English box borders, fruit and olive tree grove. Rebuilt in the 1980’s with Georgian façade, and at this time the home operated as a fine dining restaurant (Da Belle Fleur, then Mistys on the Mount), featuring in cooking shows and used regularly for filming. The property has hosted many famous guests, including Jason Statham. The house has three large bedrooms, plus three bathrooms with under-floor heating. The bedroom configurations are as follows: -  Bedroom 1 upstairs with a king size bed, plus on the landing at the top of the stairs is a single sofa-bed (sleeps 3).  Bedroom 2 upstairs is also a king size bed (sleeps 2).  Bedroom 3 downstairs (studio suite) is a king-single plus a trundle bed, with an extra single sofa-bed (sleeps 3). The impressive kitchen is where old-world charm is enhanced by modern appliances to ensure you have everything you need, including a commercial espresso coffee machine for budding baristas. Spacious open living rooms such as the dining room with large table, ideal for dinner parties. Plus lots of comfy couches and armchairs to just relax by the fire, or binge your favourite show on Netflix. The courtyard is magnificent, great for outdoor dining or drinks amongst the gardens, and with spectacular surrounding views of Mount Macedon. Perfect for family holidays, weekend getaways with friends, attending nearby events, corporate groups, cyclists, hikers, garden enthusiasts, foodies… anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
