Welcome to Wind Lake Lodge, the perfect get away in South Eastern Wisconsin for you to enjoy. This home was a Parade of homes remodel winner featuring large entertaining areas on the main floor, spectacular views of Wind Lake and generous bedrooms to relax in. It’s a modern home that preserves warmth, character and craftsmanship. We are happy to share our home with you and hope that you enjoy it. We are located on Wind Lake, 87 miles North of Chicago and 23 south west of Milwaukee. At the bottom of this post, you will find more information about what is around locally in the area. The main floor of the home features 2 generous spaces, the extremely large kitchen and the Grand Room. As you walk in the main entrance, beyond the entryway, you will enter the kitchen. The concept behind the design is that the kitchen is the place where people tend to gather. It’s a large space that makes it easy to prepare and lay out a buffet for guests. This also can make food prep very simple while you are on vacation. The center Island is nearly 40 Square feet of granite measuring 8’ by 5’ with a sink (including garbage disposal) in the center and an overhang on one side for seating. The workspace creates a nice triangle between the Refrigerator, Sink and Oven, making it very easy to prepare food. Its the perfect place for laying out a spread for you and all the guests. Under the Island is also a built-in dishwasher for easy cleanup. In addition, there are 2 granite workspaces on each side of the 6-burner gas stovetop, giving you plenty of space to work. On the side wall is another Slab of Granit measuring 2 feet by 9 feet. We have laid out a coffee bar there with a Keurig machine (and some pods) a drip coffee maker and toaster. The area can also make a great space to serve food. Above it you will find a plate rack and coffee cups. Opposite of the refrigerator is a very nice kitchen bar area. The cabinets are stocked with glasses to use and there is an Ice Bucket to keep cubes ready for serving. In one of the drawers there you will find bottle openers, wine keys, can openers, a meat thermometer and a few other useful kitchen tools. Throughout the cabinets there is plenty of silverware, cups, dishes for you to use during your visit. The kitchen has Green Diamond pots and pans along with steak knives, a knife block and other serving utensils. Near the kitchen deck, there is a turn of the century dining table that seats up to 8 guests, 3 or 4 people could also sit at the Island. On the deck there is a Webber charcoal grill. All you should need to is bring the food you want to cook and enjoy the stay! Flow from the kitchen to the Grand Room is smooth with the generous 5-foot-wide hallway. Also, the doors are all 36” wide as the home was designed to be completely wheelchair accessible on the first floor. The garage ramps up to the house so there is no need for steps; wheelchairs and walker easily get through. In addition, there is a master bedroom located on the first floor keeping the home very accessible. On the way to the Grand Room, you will pass by the pantry and the powder room, as well as the first-floor master Bedroom. The kitchen, Hallway and Bedroom are tile flooring with radiant heat built into the floor. The Grand Room is a spectacular space with beautiful lake views, a nearly 19-foot-high vaulted ceiling make it feel extra spacious. Keep walking to the opposite side of the hallway and you will be at the door in the Grand Room that leads out to the balcony deck, a perfect place to spend the evening. In the Grand Room there are 2 sofas for seating along with a coffee table. There is also an additional dining table in this space that seats 6. It can be the perfect place to play a game or just sit and talk. The room features 4 overside hanging lights and a large ceiling fan. There also is an upright Steinway piano in the room for any musicians to enjoy. If you exit out onto the balcony deck, there are 4 stairs down that take you to the grassy side lawn, leading up to the rock garden. The master bedroom is completely wheelchair accessible, and the ensuite bathroom shower has a built in sitting bench. All three Bedrooms in the home have a king-sized bed, 55” Samsung Curved TV, (with Roku setup for guest access) desks & dresser. Each bedside lamp has a USB port and also has built in QI Charging, if your phone or device supports QI charging, and the alarm clocks in each bedroom have a USB port. The first Floor Master Bedroom features an ensuite bathroom with Jack and Jill Sinks, a walk in Shower and a jetted bathtub. It also features a large walk-in closet with plenty of space to hang cloths and unpack. (Hangers included in the closet) At the foot of the king bed, is a day bed/couch to enjoy the TV. The day bed expands into a queen bed if needed. There is also an iron and Ironing board in each of the walk-in closets. The second floor Master Bedroom has a large sitting room measuring about 14.5 feet by 16 feet. In front of the 55” TV is a sofa that expands out into a queen bed for additional sleeping space. We fit a king bed into the sleeping room of this sweet to provide the guest a great view in bed. There is also a desk in this space if you need to get some work done. This room also features a large walk-in closet with plenty of room to unpack and hang cloths. This room also attached directly to the upstairs bathroom, turning it into a very nice guest suite. Both upstairs bedrooms have ceiling fans, and in floor radiant heat. The third bedroom is also on the 2 floor and has a sliding door closet with a generous amount of space. The room over all makes for a great private retreat. **At this time access to the garage is not available. We will remove this once it is available.** Wind Lake is a 919 acre lake located in Racine County. It has a maximum depth of 47 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from public boat landings. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye and Catfish. We have kayaks available for you to use on the water, and a pier. During the winter months you can cross country ski on the bike trail, and there are snowmobile trails in the area. For more information on the trails you can check out https://windlakedrifters.com. We are also Located 18 miles from Alpine Valley which has a ski resort. 1 Mile to our north is Aman's Beer + Wine, a lot of people from Milwaukee tend to drive out there because of their large selection.
