This cheerful and sunny apartment has everything you might want in a vacation rental in Miami. Centrally located within ten to fifteen minutes of Miami's most popular attractions, including South Beach, Wynwood Art District, Little Havana, Bayfront Park and Brickell downtown. We are also walking distance to the hospitals. After exploring the city, come home to a comfortable bungalow for relaxation and rest. Enjoy many amenities including full bath and kitchen stocked with loads of extras. This rental has a queen bed in the bedroom and three twin beds in the living room. Up to five people can be comfortably accommodated. The apartment is located on the first floor right off the garden and is quiet and tranquil. The kitchen has all equipment such as dinnerware, cookware, stove/oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and hotpot. The pantry and fridge are stocked with basic items such as coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, fruits, crackers, and a few more helpful items. The bathroom comes with plenty of towels and other toiletry items. We would like to let you know that we are non-discriminatory. We do not choose guests based on race, religion, orientation, age, gender, disability nor political beliefs. We also have two resident outdoor cats named Sky and Charlie who live on property. We also do our best to be environmentally conscientious and our efforts include composting, reusable bags, water conservation, recycling and providing filtered water (less single use plastic bottles). We love it when guests help us to be more eco friendly and create less of a negative footprint here in a south to Florida. Please don't hesitate to ask us questions about the interior space or amenities! The property has a detached house in front and a 4 unit, two level apartment building in the back. You have a private apartment to yourself with a full bath and kitchen, not shared with any other guests but your party. You share the entrance to the property and the outdoor space with the other guests. We have owned this property with all five units for over eleven years and we live only 10 minutes away. We are often on the property working on the garden or cleaning and improving various spaces, so that we are easily available as needed. At the same time, your apartment space is private just for you. Also, if interested in recommendations for what to do in Miami, we love our city and can help with places to see and dine that are wonderful, depending on your interests. Our neighborhood is one of Miami's first subdivisions after the city was first founded in 1896, called Spring Garden. Back then, the Miami River was a true spring fed estuary, running clear and strong from the Everglades. Mikosukee Indians used to trade with the Brickell family, using the river to travel in their canoes. Renowned author and environmental activist, Marjory Stoneman Douglas had her childhood home here in Spring Garden. Her father owned and edited one of Miami's first newspapers. As an adult, she wrote the influential book, Everglades, River of Grass. If you walk around the neighborhood next to the river, on the south side of 11th St and west of the Seybold Canal, you will see many original Miami homes, lovingly kept. If you're lucky, you might even see manatees in the river! Our property was built in 1924, during Miami's first crazy real estate boom. This place has survived many economic ups and downs, and many major hurricanes. We're happy to share it with you now as a lovely spot from which to explore the Miami of today! You can travel directly to and from the Miami Airport via the Metrorail. The orange line begins at the airport. You simply get off at the Culmer Station which is is block from our property. The Metrorail and Metromover can take you all over downtown, to the PAMM art museum, Bayfront Park and Brickell. If you go further, the train takes you to Coconut Grove, Coral Gables/UM and ends at Dadeland Mall, which has great shopping. From downtown there's a bus that can take you directly to Miami Beach. For those who have a car, we have ample free and safe parking right in front of the property. Other options for getting around would be taking Lyft or Uber, which are inexpensive here in Miami. There are Citibike rental stations around the City and in Miami Beach, however, as of now, there is not a bike station close to our property. We offer beach chairs, some floaties, beach towels and a beach umbrella for your use while you stay with us. Feel free to use them. We also have laundry on-site if you need it. The washer takes coins ($2.50 in quarters, the dryer is free. Laundry detergent is available for you to use. We have a cute neighborhood park overlooking the Miami River. This park, The Spring Garden Point Park is within walking distance. Cross the Seybold Canal on 11th St, headed West, and turn left on NW 9th Ct and keep following to the left for four blocks to the park. Welcome home! There's a few things we think you should know while staying with us. To access the property you need a key to the front gate. The key will be left in a lock box by the front gate (code 357). Walk to the right past the house to the apartment building in the back. Your apartment is #2, the yellow door on the first floor and the keyless entry code is 2020. The TV satellite service is accessed by the remote control. If you're having any difficulties with it, please don't hesitate to call or message us. Any food in the apartment is for you to enjoy and cook with. Please be aware of the other guests on the property in terms of noise levels, particularly outside or late at night after 10pm. If you smoke, definitely do not smoke in the apartment, even with a window open. Occasional smoking on the patio is fine. Please keep the front gate locked at all times as you enter and leave the property. If you have any issues that come up during your stay, for instance, the AC units, the stove, the plumbing, needing more linens, locked out, etc, do not hesitate to call us any time of the day or night. We live only 10 minutes away and can help right away. We always appreciate guests that leave the place clean and tidy. Make sure you look for all your belongings before you go. If items are stained with makeup or other mishaps, we do our best to remove the stains. If we're unable and items are damaged and need replacing, we do use the deposit in rare instances. Please be considerate and use the makeup wipes provided. The laundry at the back of the house is for general use. We ask for $3 per wash/dry and that you use your own detergent. Laundry hours for guests are before 11am and after 4pm, as we use the laundry for our cleaning service in the middle of the day. The large maps under the carport let us know where you are from in the world. Please use the push pins to mark your home if you like. Sky is our resident super host cat, and she's friendly and likes to interact with guests. Her food is in the red cabinets next to the house, marked with a sign. Feel free to feed her as needed, but avoid feeding at night as we also tend to feed wildlife like possums, squirrels and raccoons. Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us!
