Summary: Would you love to camp along the banks of the Saluda River without the hassle of setting up a tent? Our River Pod is the perfect mix between camping and comfort for two! All you have to do is bring your sleeping bag/bedding, pillow, towels, toiletries, and camping supplies. We provide the shelter, beds, bathhouse, and spectacular view. And if you do want to add a tent for up to four more, just let us know and we'll help with the details. Road noise is possible due to the location the our River Pods. Come camp on the river...Adventure awaits! The Space: Each River Pod contains two twin beds so you can enjoy the ease of sleeping on top of the line camp mattresses, while hearing the rush of the river from your doorstep. Because this is still camping, there is limited use of electricity (solar powered generator provides some power). While there is no WiFi at this "campsite", there are amazing coffee shops less than a 5 minute drive from SOC. The Village Grind and Unlocked Coffee are 2 of our favs! As the weather is getting colder please pack and plan accordingly. There is a bathhouse available for our guests, with men’s and women’s restrooms and one shower for each. We will allow one tent with a maximum of four occupants next to the pod, with a fee of $10 per person/per night. Please read carefully our rules regarding occupancy, safety, and fees. The property is home to Saluda Outdoor Center, a river tubing company, and13 Stripes River Lodge Brewery, where there's an awesome music stage and restaurant. During our busy season, this location will be busy and fun during the day, but after 10:00, the starry nights and rushing river will be sweet and quiet companions. There are steep bluffs close to the camping area and caution is advised and, if children come, they must be closely supervised at all times. All activities at Saluda Outdoor Center are at your own risk. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times and you must pick up after them. Please note, pet owners will be responsible for any damage and or special cleaning. Each firepit will have complimentary firewood. We will also give you fire starters and matches. If you would like to purchase more firewood, you may do so at the office. Each bundle will be $5 each. Road noise is possible due to the location the our River Pods. Guest Access: Please enjoy the scenic views and the beauty at Saluda Outdoor Center, where we offer tubing excursions throughout the summer. 13 Stripes River Lodge is on the property and you’re welcome to enjoy what they have to offer, including live music when it’s scheduled. The SOC bathhouse is across the property and is to be used by guests and tubers, please expect it to be busy during the summer months. The Neighborhood: The Saluda Outdoor Center houses a tubing company that operates during the warmer summer months. While staying with us, we would love for you to enjoy the fun of floating down the Saluda River! Also, on the property, is "13 Stripes River Lodge Brewery," which is opening in early summer of 2021. With our music stage, there may be live music in the evenings to enjoy while you sit around a campfire. We are located a quick five minutes to The Village of West Greenville, our local art's district, where cute coffee shops, eateries, and galleries dot a restored mill village. Another five minutes and you're in downtown Greenville, where there's endless things to explore in this beautiful city! If you just need supplies or fast food, Easley is five minutes away in the other direction and Clemson is 30 minutes. We are also a great jumping off spot to discover waterfalls, trails, and the nearby mountains. We have it all...convenience, activities, fun, and scenic beauty! Getting Around: Bring your own car and camping supplies Other Things to Note: The $10 per person “extra guest fee” is to accommodate one tent next to the River Pod, up to four more guests. Larger tents will not be allowed, only max 4 person tent. If you need to accommodate more people, you will need to rent another River Pod with tent space. If this is the case, please contact us so we can help you with this reservation (and will save booking fees). Max capacity per pod is two, with tent occupants (4), and a total of six. Camp managers will be verifying the occupancy and violators will be asked to leave immediately. Interaction with Guests: This is a "pack in/pack out" site. You will be responsible to leave no trace and to act respectfully of any other guests, neighbors, and the property. We have property managers available for questions.
