La Ville Josse is a charming, spacious three-bedroom house situated in the Brittany countryside, ideal for tranquillity and relaxation yet close enough to beautiful beaches and interesting places to visit. La Ville Josse comfortably sleeps 6 in guests in 3 bedrooms. This stunning property is set in half an acre of land, including a pond. It is just 12 kms from the beautiful northern Brittany coast and 9kms from the medieval city of Dinan. Perfect for a family or group of friends wanting a quiet yet comfortable place to stay for a holiday, La Ville Josse has everything you need to be able to sit back and relax. The house has been beautifully renovated whilst retaining both its character and original features, including the exposed stone walls and beams. The well maintained grounds and pond offer a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Brittany countryside. On the ground floor there are two large reception rooms, one specifically for dining, having a large dining table, and the other having plenty of comfortable seating and a television with French/English channels. Both have striking fireplaces but please note the large open fires are not to be used. There is a separate spacious dining kitchen which is well equipped, including a dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge-freezer and all the tableware you will need to sit and enjoy meals together either in the kitchen or dining room. . On the ground floor there is also a separate WC and a utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer. WiFi is provided. From the dining room, take the stairs up to a long landing area from which you access the first-floor rooms. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a lovely seating area where you can sit and relax with a book or perhaps use the space to play. All bedrooms are spacious and light, with low windows that have great views of the grounds. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and a small sofa and bedroom 3 has twin beds. These rooms can use the additional family bathroom or the shower room. OUTSIDE: The large garden is perfect for relaxing in and there is enough space for the children to play. Outdoor furniture and a BBQ are provided enabling you to eat "al fresco" Please be aware that the large pond is not fenced and children must be supervised at all times. HEATING: La Ville Josse is heated by electric heaters during the cooler months. Bedding and towels are provided. PROPERTY SUITABILITY: The house sleeps up to 6. A travel cot is available but there is no stairgate. The house is not accessible to wheelchairs and please note there are stairs and a step in the property. Pets are not allowed and the house is non-smoking, however, smoking is allowed outside. PARKING: There is ample space for parking available at the property. LOCAL AREA: Les Etangs du Val de Sée is a trout fishing lake and restaurant in the village of Saint Georges de Livoye and a short drive or walk away. Brécey is 5 km away and you will find a supermarket, épicerie, 3 boulangeries, 4 bars, 3 restaurants, a Tourist Office and outdoor swimming pool there. The weekly market is on Fridays. Out and About. There are many wonderful places to discover in this area of Normandy including zoos, towns, nature walks, kayaking on the river Vire, historical towns, sandy beaches and museums galore. There are many beautiful beaches within a 25-30 minute drive of La Ville Josse, Dragey being the nearest at 30km. Granville is 40 minutes away where you will find a variety of shops, restaurants, beaches and Christian Dior’s home to explore. Iles Chausey is a boat ride from here and has many sites to explore including a Napoleonic fort, chapel, lighthouse and sandy beaches. The moules (mussel) beds in the bay provide the local restaurants with fresh produce to be enjoyed: Moules et Frites is a must for fish lovers. Mont Saint Michel is reached in 45 minutes and is a UNESCO heritage site and well worth a visit. Visit the abbey itself or walk across its bay as many pilgrims have and still do to discover spectacular views of Mont Saint Michel and many different varieties of plants, birds and animals. Villedieu-les-Poeles, famous for its bell foundry and copper pans, is well worth a visit. Walk through its streets, browse its shops, sit and enjoy a drink in one of its many bars or visit its Tuesday market. Avranches sits on the top of a granite hill and overlooks Mont Saint-Michel and its bay. During your visit take time to take in the atmosphere of this bustling town and learn about its tumultuous past and important civil heritage and churches. Market day is Saturday.
