Stepping through the front door, you will be charmed by the perfect mix of contemporary décor and character features as you enter the living/dining room, which has a large Cotswold stone inglenook fireplace housing a welcoming woodburning stove, and plenty of seating for you and your loved ones to have a relaxing evening watching TV. Utilise the facilities in the country-style kitchen to prepare a delicious meal for your loved ones before gathering together at the dining table in the living space, and toasting to a wonderful holiday that lies before you. In warmer months, enjoy your dinner al fresco style in the private courtyard garden which is accessed by a lovely stable door in the kitchen; this welcoming space is a sun trap in the late afternoon and is home to an outdoor table and chairs, as well as a useful outbuilding containing and washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can have a clean bag of washing when you return home. Retreat indoors as the evening grows darker and make your way up the steep, winding staircase and indulge in a relaxing bath before heading to bed in either the double room which has whitewashed stone walls, oak beams and convenient chest of drawers and hooks or the king-size room which has hooks providing hanging space. Taking a further steep, winding staircase up to the eaves of the cottage on the second floor, you will find a lovely hideaway room, complete with a day bed which can be made up to a single bed on request, a Freeview TV and DVD player and a selection of books and games; perfect for some time alone. Town: Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible!
