Located in an unrivalled riverside position along the River Yare yet just minutes from the centre of Norwich, The Alders offers stylish mix of contemporary & classic accommodation arranged across three floors that is perfect for discerning guests looking for something special for their break or celebration. Originally built as a country retreat for Mr Cooper, giving its name to the lane on which it sits, it was later occupied by a Miss Hovell for 92 years, who owned a locally famous basket weaving shop located within the Norwich lanes. With five double bedrooms and a further snug/games room with a sofa bed, this spacious house provides accommodation for up to eleven guests, with one bedroom boasting a four-poster bed and another an en-suite and dressing room. It also has four reception rooms packed with original character including sash windows, exposed beams, original oak flooring and an open fire and includes a formal dining room and a very well-equipped kitchen which just begs to be cooked in. This is the perfect place to raise a glass (or two) to memories past and to get together with loved ones and create new memories of wonderful times spent reconnecting, unwinding and enjoying the feeling of being in the countryside. This is a property that has been loved by its present owners and renovated with care to offer elegant accommodation with a careful nod to its period. And despite its proximity to the city centre, it also provides peace and serenity alongside an abundance of wildlife due to the established green gardens which stretch past the pretty pond down through a small, wooded area and on to the banks of the River Yare. Within this two-acre plot, you will also find a hot tub to relax and unwind in while gazing at the stars and listening to the wildlife chattering under the night skies. It will in fact be hard to tear yourself away from The Alders but should you do so you will find a vibrant city packed with museums, galleries and theatres just waiting to be explored. No visit is complete without a trip to the famous Norman castle, which sits atop Castle Mound and overlooks this bustling city, and tours can be booked onsite. Foodies will find themselves faced with a wealth of choice from high street favourites to boutique and artisan restaurants and cafes with all tastes and pockets catered for. Those with a love of shopping will find two malls filled with the all the usual chain stores an award winning daily open-air market and The Lanes, which is packed with unique shops and places to eat. Also close by lies the stunning Norfolk Broads where you can charter your own day launch and drift along these famous waterways. In fact, you are perfectly placed for the three Norfolk highlights, the city, the coast, and the broads making this a great location for your stay. Free WiFi Please note: There is a garden pond 25ft away.
