Gentle Shores is a lakeside holiday home that caters for up to 5 adults. The cottage is an older style Queenslander with timber floors and features and French doors. It has a wide covered deck that overlooks the lake with lovely lake views. There is a small deep swimming pool. The house is opposite the lake with easy lake access nearby. Its very private and peaceful and is the perfect holiday getaway. There is a large lawn area for play. The cottage has 3 bedrooms 1 x queen 1 x twin single (2 single beds) 1 x single (1 single bed) It has a small bathroom with shower and toilet and the basin is separate in the bathroom and laundry hallway. There is a combined living space with kitchen, dining and lounge. It has an entry forecourt with cafe table & chairs and a wide covered deck for relaxing at rear with an outdoor setting. The property is sloping and is highset at the rear giving elevation for the lovely views. There is stair access to the house from lake side whilst the front is lowset. It has a northern aspect and is bright and sunny with cooling lake breezes. The house is also fully screened. The house is casual and comfortable with all amenities. There is a BBQ on the deck. Boreen Point is a beautiful unspoilt lakeside village situated on Lake Cootharaba which is part of the Noosa River. You can travel by boat all the way down the river to the ocean at Noosa Heads. Boreen Point is about 20 mins from Noosaville foreshore and 25 min from Noosa Heads beach and the famous Hasting Street by car. Its close to everything including the Great Sandy National Park, Noosa Hinterland villages and Eumundi markets. The Lake is the gateway to the Noosa Everglades and boats and canoes are available for hire to explore this pristine area. There are many great walks in the National Park and along the lake foreshore where is is well sheltered by lovely natural bush and many foreshore trees. The upper Noosa River is fabulous to explore by canoe or kayak. The Lake is famous for windsurfing and sailing, holding many regattas for state and national titles during the sailing season. Its also popular for fishing; swimming; kite surfing and boating. There is $2 Maxi Taxi transport to Boreen Point and return from Tewantin where you can connect to other public transport networks. The closest railway station is Pomona or Cooroy. Its also 1.5 hours from Brisbane by car and 40 mins from Maroochy airport. Pickup from Tewantin, Pomona, Cooroy or airport is available. A 5 min walk takes you to most places in the village including 2 great coffee spots; the Apollonian Hotel and Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club. The club bar opens every Friday for drinks and is open August to May for club racing and regattas. The local shop cooks breakfast and lunch; the cafe has great coffee, cakes and snacks and the pub is open for lunch and dinner 7 days. The pub is an old Queensland heritage building with expansive lawns for the kids to play and there is often entertainment on Fridays and Sundays.
