Casa Michelangelo is a fully restored 4 bed, 2 bath stone cottage with a loft & FREE parking. There is a wood-burning fireplace (1 firewood per stay), kitchen, including a hand crank pasta maker, clothes washer, heating and AC. Chianni itself is not a major tourist town, but it is within close proximity to many tourist sites, such as Pisa, Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano, Castiglioncello, Chianti and the east Tuscan coast. All are an easy day trip while returning to quiet Chianni for a restful nights sleep. The cottage is located in a private, gated contest. Our property manager will meet you at check in & be available for questions/issues during your stay. There are 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed & the other with bunk beds), bathroom, kitchen, washing machine (please bring your own laundry soap) and living/dining room are on the main level. The loft includes a full size sleeper sofa with an en suite bath. In addition, there is an outdoor table with seating for 8 on the patio. The hill-town of Chianni boasts approximately 1,500 residents and has 6 bars & restaurants, 3 supermarkets, pharmacy, gift shop, fresh pasta shop, and 2 bakeries. In July & August, there is a weekly evening market on Thursdays for wines, cheeses, breads, oils & trinkets. Chianni is a vibrant place with many options to enjoy, such as wine tasting, olive oil sampling, hill walking, Vespa tours and more. Chianni is famous for its olive groves and is known to produce some of the best olive oil in Italy. The forests surrounding Chianni are home to wild boar and in November, the town hosts one of the oldest food festivals in Italy where you can sample wild boar and other local cuisine. Chianni is the perfect location to explore much of Tuscany. It is centrally located and you can easily day trip, with car hire, to the western coast, wine regions, medieval villages, nature reserves, beaches, major tourist sites and more! Public transportation via train and bus is available or we can arrange one-way private airport transfers from either Pisa or Florence to Casa Michelangelo for an additional fee of 115€ from Florence and 50€ from Pisa. A mere 14 km away is the town of Lajatico where the famous tenor, Andrea Bocelli, was born & currently resides. Here, in the heart of Valdera is Bocelli's famous Teatro del Silenzio, which draws some of the biggest names in opera. You will also find a summer opera festival here each July & August. The Bocelli family also has a wine estate that can be visited near Lajatico. Information provided on our Day Trip Guide. Approximately 40 minutes away is the Castelfalfi Golf Course and ristorante. Known as the largest golf course in Tuscany, this 27-hole course is broken down into two, the 18-hole Mountain Course and the 9-hole Lake Course. Open to the public, but bookings are required. If you prefer the warmth of thermal waters, check out the nearby spa town of Casciana Terme, 8.5 km away. They offer indoor and outdoor pools which are open to the public to visit and enjoy. You can also book massages and other spa services. Guests staying in Chianni have access to a hotel swimming pool 1.5 km away in Rivalto. There is a daily fee of 5€ per person for the use of the pool or a family ticket of 10€ for two adults and up to 4 children under the age of 16. The hotel has a poolside bar serving drinks and snacks as well as a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Information provided on our Day Trip Guide. Please note, we request a fully refundable 100€ security deposit in CASH at check in. It will be refunded as long as all items are returned to the cottage, house rules were followed and no damage was done to the property. We will provide a cottage key and a remote to open and close the gate once you have checked in. Remember to leave these when you depart or you forfeit the 100€ security deposit. Per Italian law, our property manager will ask to take a photo of each adult guest's passport upon arrival. House rules are detailed below: 1. No recreational drugs or tobacco products allowed; 2. No additional guests allowed without PRIOR host consent; 3. All guests must be noted on reservation and passport copies provided to the host/property manager per Italian law; 4. COVID-19 rules must be followed by the guests per Italian law and guidance; 5. No animals/pets allowed; 6. Any damage or issues with the property must be reported immediately to the host/property manager; 7. The cottage is not “child-proofed”; 8. We will supply 1 firewood for the fireplace per reservation; 9. Do not remove any provided items from the cottage; 10. Dispose of your waste and recycling in the appropriate bins; 11. Please wash all kitchen items used and leave clean; 12. Kindly leave dirty towels in bathrooms; 13. The entry gate remote must be left in the cottage upon checkout or you will lose the 100 euro security deposit; 14. Quiet hours are from 9pm - 6am every day; 15. Please be respectful of the neighbors & townspeople.
