Currently for sale, so bookings will temporarily not be accepted. May become available again soon ... With sweeping views of beautiful Barilla Bay, verdant vineyards, orchards and golf courses, "The Panorama" is an architectural indulgence on a well fenced one acre, set up for discerning travelers looking for a premium luxury experience. Only in Tasmania is it possible to have such a serene and glamorous rural location surrounded by award-winning restaurants, wineries, and food producers only 15 mins’ easy drive, or bus ride into the dead centre of Hobart city (with no traffic lights on the way), 18 minutes to Salamanca Markets, 13 minutes from the airport, and 5 minutes idyllic drive to historic Richmond. There is 24-hour access via an electronic keypad, secure parking for up to 7 vehicles and motion-detecting external flood lights for late arrivals. The massive, ducted reverse-cycle air conditioning and unlimited instant-on gas hot water systems will ensure you remain toasty warm on even the coldest Tasmanian Winter's day (important as Tasmania can get very brisk days in Spring and Autumn as well). If you are driving from Launceston or Devonport you will drive directly to us before you hit the increasingly busy Hobart City traffic. For stays over 4 days we provide an extra change of towels. We also change the sheets every week and do a light refresh of the house if requested. Sheets are sun-dried whenever possible for a luxurious smell and feel. Significant discounts for longer stays. ‘The Panorama’ is luxuriously appointed for up to 15 people, while set up to provide the ultimate indulgence for a romantic weekend for 2, small and extended family getaways, corporate groups, business colleagues, special events, or a group of friends "togethering". We configure the house to suit you - more chairs, high chairs, toys, cots, safety gates, and beds for large groups and cleared to highlight more designer space for smaller groups. Children love the fort, slide and park-like grounds as well as optionally bunking in together in the large and secured "family bedroom/rumpus apart from the adults, with their own ensuite toilet and washbasin in the powder room. For kids, we can supply infant bath, cutlery, change table, cots/bassinets, child cutlery and crockery, mini child dining table and 2 seats, a high chair, safety gates for stairs and safety covers for power outlets. The study in the Penthouse suite can also be optionally set up as a dedicated nursery. Portacots can be supplied for young infants to sleep in comfortably with their parents in the large to enormous rooms. Everything is supplied for your stay, including top quality crockery, cutlery, place mats, barbecues, cooking utensils, natural latex mattresses, “Microcloud” doonas and pillows (See the ‘ProductReview’ web site for how good these are), 1000-thread-count Canningvale bed-linen, Egyptian cotton towels, hand-wash, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, tissues, cooking oil, salt and pepper, tea, ground coffee and plungers, breakfast provisions, and real milk. You will be kept at the perfect temperature throughout your stay, via a massive top of the line Actronair ducted air-conditioning system vented into every room and corridor, electric blankets, Sheraton throws, beyond 5-star hotel quality bedding, fantastic insulation and gas continuous hot water to all three showers, while still able to marvel at the unfolding vistas designed to be revealed at every turn, via extremely high quality and thickly glassed thermally efficient windows and doorways. Only absolutely environmentally sound products (such as vinegar and soda bicarbonate solutions) are used for cleaning and laundry. Other quality appliances include an LG induction stove, top of the range AEG oven, De'Longhi dishwasher, Samsung upright fridge/freezer with ice maker and cold water dispenser, SMEG toaster and kettle. Sunbeam water filtration cooler, and Breville rice cooker. These will ensure you can take full advantage of the superior local produce, should you wish to take a break from the outstanding local restaurants. Automatic night lights are scattered throughout corridors, along with multiple free Wi-Fi access points to allow you to make full use of the high-speed NBN broadband. There is a new 50-inch Ultra High Definition TV to allow you to watch your free Netflix in dazzling 4K clarity, or to play our new Xbox 1 with driving, basketball and Minecraft games suitable for minors and adults alike. We invite you to indulge yourself. There are 3 toilets, a huge bath, and three showers. A state of the art 10 kg washing machine, dryer and multiple drying lines teamed with all necessary cleaning equipment including a new Dyson vacuum will ensure you can easily maintain your clothing and the amenity of the house to your requirements, between our weekly refreshes. This is a very low crime area, but you can rest assured that your Lamborghinis – or Hyundais – are safe in the large automatic roll-a-door garage. There is off-street parking for up to seven other cars, and a lock for the gates can be provided if requested. Only in Tasmania is it possible to have such a premium and serene location amongst award winning vineyards, pastures and orchards, only 15 minutes’ drive into the Hobart city centre. Moreover, this is a mainly freeway drive unimpeded by traffic lights all the way into Hobart city and only another minute or two onto Salamanca and Battery Point. This is considerably superior to similar properties in outer Hobart suburbs which require you to negotiate multiple lights, 50 km speed limits and traffic all the way in and back. Furthermore, at The Panorama, you are 2 minutes’ drive, or 25 minutes’ walk to Frogmore Creek, the Australian regional restaurant of the year 2015 and 2016. Riversdale estate next door won it in 2017. Award-winning food and wine at Puddleduck, Coal River Farm, and Wicked Cheese, to name just a few, are even closer. Figs and Apricots are available at an orchard on our road, less than 100 metres outside the front gate, and you can pick your own cherries and berries at multiple locations nearby. 15 minutes’ drive on scenic country back roads takes you to MONA, 4 minutes straight up the main road is historic Richmond and then on to Zoodoo and Bonorong nature parks. Drive through Richmond on well-maintained country roads that will take you directly onto the East Coast Highway for day drives to spectacular Maria Island; Coles Bay, Wineglass and Honeymoon bays on the Freycinet peninsula; Port Arthur, Eaglehawk Neck and the 3 Capes walk on the Tasman Peninsula, or further up the coast to Bicheno and the awesomely beautiful Bay of Fires. Take a detour inland from Richmond for 15 minutes’ drive through picture-perfect hills, meadows and distant mountain views reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands, onto picturesque Craigbourne dam where you can fish for trout and salmon with a permit, which we can prearrange for you along with fishing rods. If you are looking for a holiday that will provide you with space and a lavish and uber-comfortable lifestyle, while being central to all that Hobart, the East Coast and Tasman Peninsula have to offer, there is no better choice. Guest Access: Guest have full access to all of the building and grounds. There is 24-hour immediate access to 'The Panorama' at all times. The standard booking is for four to eight people (depending on season) with extra people charged $25 per night. Contact with Owner: We will meet you at check-in to show you around and give you a few tips about where you are and what to do. We make ourselves available to our guests via the phone anytime and enjoy passing on our knowledge and passion for Tasmania. Getting around: Five minutes' walk takes you to a bus stop where you can catch 5 or 6 buses every week day into the CBD, or the other direction to historic Richmond. However to take full advantage of this superb location, a car is advised. Other: Please make sure you review the house rules before finalizing your booking. The five queen beds are absolute top of the line in every way - heaven to sleep on for anyone. The singles (including single sofabeds) are very comfortable for children and smaller adults up to 85 kg. The bedding and arrangements of towels and pillows etc. are personalised for every group and we will work in with you to give you the best possible setup to maximise your enjoyment of this beautiful place. For instance, sofabeds double as large and attractive ottomans if not being used, and we can configure the upstairs study as a nursery if required - we also stock each room with the required pillows and towels for the inhabitants, including extras for longer stays.
