Located on a private estate amidst stately mansions, yet close to downtown. Just minutes from Randolph College, VA Baptist, Oakwood Country Club, Westminster Canterbury, and V.E.S.; close to University of Lynchburg and Liberty University. With private parking, high-speed internet, and upscale amenities, you can escape the city and shelter in nature. The space Here's what you can expect to find at the Rivermont Carriage House: KITCHEN: stainless steel range/stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Keurig, all kitchen necessities, cookware and beautiful ceramic dishes hand-crafted in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Starbucks coffee bar, breakfast treats, drinks and snacks. Combination washer/dryer with laundry supplies. LIVING ROOM: XL sofa, rocking chair, vintage Singer sewing machine recrafted as a dining room table, 2 chairs, games, puzzles, smart HD TV with Netflix, and an Echo Dot for music streaming. Party of three? The 3rd person gets the comfy couch (not a sleeper sofa) or a twin air mattress. BEDROOM: queen memory foam bed, dresser, ample closet space, 100% cotton bedding, blackout blinds, vintage record center, reading nook with rocking chair, smart HD TV with Netflix. BATHROOM: bathtub shower combo, pedestal sink, toilet, towels, bathrobes, hair dryer and an abundance of complimentary amenities. OUTSIDE: screened sunporch with table, 2 chairs, and egg chair leads out to a private gravel patio area with SOLO fire pit, 2 chairs, complimentary firewood and roasting utensils. PETS: we allow one well-behaved dog under 40 pounds at no additional charge. Dogs over that weight, or a second dog under 25 pounds will carry a $50 fee. Sorry, no cats allowed. Pet may not be left behind while the owner is out, unless crated. Extra charges will be assigned if there is evidence of damage upon departure. We celebrate diversity and inclusion. ALL are welcome here. Things to note: The space is one of a kind. We understand that it may not be for everyone. Our carriage house was built by hand 129 years ago. The floors and ceilings are not all level, and the two bottom stair steps are shorter. The sloped upstairs ceilings are only 7’ tall, so those over 6’ might need to duck their head when entering the bedroom or bathroom. There is a small step-up area in the bathroom. Dishes must be washed by hand. The carriage house is not ideal for small children. But it is charming, unique and in the most beautiful section of the Rivermont Historic District. Guest access Guests have full access to the carriage house, sunporch, patio and our grounds. Keypad entry for contactless check-in. There is private parking for up to 3 cars by the carriage house.
