1885 Farms: The Original Farmhouse
1885 Farms presents "The Original Farmhouse"! This charming 3 bedroom & 2.5 bathroom home is the original farmhouse companion to The Barn at 1885 Farms. Experience true farmhouse living without sacrificing any of the modern amenities! "The Original Farmhouse" was built in 1877. In 2021, close to 150 years after it was built, the home was thoughtfully and carefully restored and renovated, adding many modern touches while retaining its original farmhouse charm. The first thing you'll notice about this large family home is its sizable covered porch, which wraps around the side and front of the house. Perfect for sipping early morning cups of coffee or watching sunsets from the porch swing, you'll be sure to enjoy its farm views! Upon entering the home, you'll be welcomed by the large dining space, connected to an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The kitchen has a large central island with lots of counter space and a separate breakfast bar as well. You'll love the big farmhouse table for enjoying family dinners together! The guest bathroom is also conveniently located off of the dining area. Just beyond the kitchen, you'll discover the comfortable living room. With it's large windows, double glass doors, and original farmhouse features, this room is a tribute to the home's authentic charm! On the second floor of the home, you'll find three spacious bedrooms, each equipped with a king bed. There is one full bathroom with a stand-up shower off of the hallway. The other full bathroom is located off of the master bedroom and has a shower/tub combo. With 1,840 square feet of living space, you and your group will enjoy the comfort and style of "farmhouse living" in this family home! There is two acre fishing pond located behind the property (this pond is part of another one our airbnb rental homes). The pond is stocked with bass, blue gill, crappie and sunfish. To get to the pond, you will need to use the path that leads through the woods behind the house. When you exit the woods, the pond will be to your left. We do ask that you please respect the privacy of the guests staying in the home and not venture near the house they're staying in. Thanks! HISTORICAL NOTE: This 1877 farmhouse is the original homestead to the Foltz family, who built the "The Barn at 1885 Farms", a historic octagonal barn. The Barn was built in 1885 and relocated to an adjacent property in 2008. During your stay, please inquire about availability to tour The Barn (by appointment only please).
