Originally built for the railway station master, the cottage is built from Cotswold Stone and retains a wealth of period features, which are perfectly fused with a modern, contemporary style, making it the perfect home-from-home for a small family or two couples who are looking for a relaxing break. The grounds of the cottage are entered through a lovely beech archway, which opens onto a large gravel driveway where you can park up to four cars. As you unload your luggage in through the front door, you are welcomed by the bright entrance hall, which leads you to the dual aspect reading room, where you can get some peace and quiet sat at one of the wing back armchairs, overlooking the views of the garden. Moving through the property into the kitchen/diner, you will find everything you need to cook up delicious meals for your party, making use of the electric oven and five-ring induction hob, and perhaps watching a cooking show in the meantime on the wall-mounted Smart TV, before gathering with your guests around the dining table. The stylishly decorated sitting room provides a welcoming space for you and your loved ones to relax of an evening, surrounded by an impressive exposed Cotswold stone wall, as you catch up on your favourite TV show and get the woodburning stove crackling away to provide warmth in winter months. Conveniently completing the ground-floor is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a cloakroom with a basin and WC. When sleep calls, a choice of three homely bedrooms rest on the first-floor; bedroom one is a dual aspect eaves room, with a king-size bed and en-suite bath, with a hand-held shower, large walk-in rain shower, basin and WC. A secret doorway in bedroom one leads into bedroom three, which contains twin beds, making it perfect for children. Bedroom two is either accessed from the main stairwell, or accessed by taking a steep spiral set of stairs with a rope barrier that are concealed behind the fire in the sitting room, the room is located in the eaves and contains a king-size bed and benefits from a TV and an en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC. In the morning, catch the sunrise in the beautiful garden that surrounds the property, and marvel at the small pond and variety of trees and plants. The garden rises up behind the cottage, and includes a lovely lawned area looking out over a meadow towards the local church where you can take a seat at one of the chairs and take in the morning air. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the excellent scenic walks from the village including The Monarch’s Way and The Macmillan Way. Ideally located in the centre of the Cotswolds, popular towns including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford can all be discovered whilst staying in Chedworth. The market town of Cirencester and regency spa town Cheltenham are both easily accessible and have a variety of visitor attractions to explore. A wonderful base for a holiday in the Cotswolds.
