Welcome to The Brightwood Cottage! Nestled in a quaint wooded neighborhood, 20 minutes from Timberline Lodge, minutes from Mt. Hood Village. Get cozy next to the wood stove and watch your favorite movies and shows on the smart TV, or enjoy a nice book on the deck under the Cedar trees. Our 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom cottage is a perfect getaway for your family or friends! All three bedrooms have cozy queen beds and views of the woods behind and the sounds of the Sandy river below from an open window will lull you to sleep at night. This home has enough sleeping space for 6 comfortably, but will also accommodate one on the very comfy couch in the living room and a Love Sac in the game room. Guests can cuddle up by the wood stove and enjoy a movie or show on the smart TV in the living room. When not on the slopes, the game room will be sure to keep everyone busy with the Skeeball game, Pac Man arcade game, darts and board games! The kitchen is well stocked and set up for you with stainless appliances, cookware, dish ware, flatware and utensils, glasses, everything you'll need to prepare a quick bite to eat or holiday family dinners. We have a coffee pot as well as a keurig for your morning coffee or coffee on the go. After a full day on the mountain you can relax in the covered hot tub on the deck, build a fire in the fire pit to roast marshmallows or chill with a glass of wine. You will love the fully fenced yard, cedar trees and the sound of the river while you enjoy the outdoors. We are a dog friendly home and would love to host your best friend, we have doggy waste bags on the outside of the house for your convenience, a cozy dog bed and there may even be a few treats in the cupboard! The yard is completely fenced, the gate is left open in the beginning to allow easier locating of the property, however, after you arrive the gate may be closed to allow for your pup to run! We do supply a starter amount of firewood for both the wood stove and the fire pit so sit back and enjoy your home away from home. We are just a few steps away from the popular Brightwood Tavern where you can have a drink or a bite to eat. The Brightwood store is also just a few steps away if there is something you forgot. Mt Hood Village is a short few minute drive. Government Camp is 12 minutes away and Timberline Lodge is only 20 minutes away. Frequently Asked Questions: *Do you provide sheets and blankets? Yes, linens are provided for each bed in the cottage. They are professionally laundered, and beds are made up for you when you arrive. There are lots of extra blankets and throw blankets for your comfort. *Is there a place to do laundry? Yes, we have a washer and dryer in the home. We have starter amounts of laundry soap, beads and dryer sheets. *How many towels are available? We provide 2 towels per person staying. We also have separate towels specifically for the hot tub. *Does the cottage have a full kitchen? Yes, our cottage is equipped with the following: pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, flatware, glasses. There is a range/oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, coffee pot, keurig, blender. *Is there parking at the cottage? Yes we have 2 spots inside the fenced property and room for 2 more cars outside on the street. *Do we clean the cottage ourselves? We have a professional cleaner who cleans after every stay. The cleaning fee that is charged goes directly to the cleaners themselves. *When will I get my security deposit back? Security deposits are handled through VRBO and is just a hold they place on the card for 48 hours after check out. *How do we get into the cottage? The cottage has a remote lock with a changing code that will be given to you the day of your arrival. *When is check-in and check-out? Check-in is at 4:00 pm on the first night of your rental and check-out is at 11:00 am the morning following your last night's rental. If we are not back to back booked, we may allow early check in or check out on approval. *What if I need to get a hold of someone about the cottage? Message us on VRBO or give us a call. We try to respond immediately to all messages. *Does the cottage have stairs? There are no stairs, but there is one step going into one of the bedrooms and the half bath. *Do I need tire chains? During the winter months the roads to our cottage are kept fairly plowed, however, chains are required to be carried anywhere from here up to the mountain. -The maximum number of guests is 8. -The maximum number of cars allowed is 4. -Quiet time begins at 10:00 pm. Please no excessive noise after this time. Any complaints made about the noise coming from the house after this time may result in a fine from the city that you will be responsible for paying an/or you may be asked to leave. -No smoking inside the home, including cigarettes, pipes, vape, marijuana, etc. A fee of $150 will be charged to you in order to purify the air and get rid of the smoke smell. Smoking is allowed outside away from open windows and doors. -Dogs are allowed (there is a $25 per stay for each dog) -In order to conserve energy and water, we ask that you leave any used beds unmade. This way we know which beds to change the linens on. -Please load and start dishwasher on last day. -Please take all food items with you. -Leave towels on the bathroom floor or laundry room floor. -By booking this cottage, you understand that this home is in the mountains. Although we do have regular pest control service, there may be insects who find their way in to the house, which is beyond our control. That could include, but is not limited to, spiders, moths, flies etc. We are unable to completely prevent them from getting into the house.
