Located on the quiet end of Kailua in east O’ahu, near one of arguably the best beaches on the island, as well as two beautiful, yet very different hiking trails, Hale Honi La is the ideal home base for an unforgettable vacation. The living room, with its comfortable couches, mid-century modern sitting area, and flatscreen TV sits at the center of the home, flanked by both the high-end kitchen and spacious indoor/outdoor lanai. The gourmet kitchen boasts top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, including a Wolf range, Miele espresso machine, a wine fridge, and an industrial refrigerator and freezer, large enough to store all the fixings to cook your favorite meals. You can either dine at the bar seating along the kitchen island or make your way past the living room’s sliding glass doors to the indoor/outdoor lanai, where you can dine at a table set for six, surrounded by lush treetops. The view continues from the sizable lounge space filled with island-inspired furniture, as well as from the Peloton bike in the corner, perfect for guests who don’t want to miss their daily workout. Hale Honi La has four bedrooms, including two master suites, one of which has private access to the indoor/outdoor space via glass sliders. The main floor master boasts a king-size bed from which you can gaze out at the greenery just beyond the large windows. There is also a workspace, small sitting area, walk-in closet, and a spa-like ensuite with dual vanities, a walk-in shower, and a soaking tub. There are two guest bedrooms on this floor as well, one with two twin beds that can be converted into a king and one with a queen-size bed. Both guest rooms have ceiling fans to keep guests cool on warm nights and share a full-size bathroom with a walk-in shower. Couples who value privacy will love the lower level master bedroom thanks to its separate entrance and the full-size ensuite with a shower/tub combo. A wet bar keeps kitchen visits to a minimum and the private indoor/outdoor lanai means you can enjoy the garden views in peace. There is also a twin daybed and queen airbed available if additional sleeping space is needed. A sandy cove with easy access to the ocean is a mere five minute walk away and perfect for launching the two one-seater kayaks provided with your stay. In addition, both Kailua Beach Park and Lanikai Beach, with their long stretches of white, powdery sand and views of the offshore Mokulua Islands, are also nearby. Start the day off right with a sunrise hike of the Ka’iwa Ridge Trail (also known as Lanikai Pillbox), popular with visitors and locals alike, where you can explore concrete bunkers built sometime between the two World Wars and enjoy breathtaking views at the same time.
