The Old School House is a beautiful, historic house which sleeps twelve guests, in five bedrooms, resting in Lower Swell, Gloucestershire. Nestled in the picturesque countryside setting of Lower Swell, and offering sleeping arrangements for 12 guests, The Old School House makes for the perfect family or group holiday. The Old School House has been thoughtfully renovated and dates back to 1869, where it was originally built for the school mistress. It holds many character features which have been graciously complimented by contemporary décor and amenities. Upon arrival at The Old School House, you and your guests can park up to five cars on the driveway and make your way to the door at the rear of the house which opens directly into the spacious and bright open kitchen/dining room which is the heart of the house and is the perfect space for socialising. A handy utility room is located adjacent to the kitchen. Moving through the ground floor you will find the sitting room which boasts a warming woodburning stove in a large fireplace, and offers a homely place for you and your loved ones to relax and catch up The layout of the upstairs is unique and quirky; the bedrooms are accessed via two different staircases. A door from the dining room leads you to the staircase to the first floor where you will find two characterful bedrooms and a shower room. Both bedrooms benefit from inviting double beds and one contains a convenient additional single bed, perfect for families. Moving back downstairs and into the sitting room, a second staircase leads you to the other first floor where you will find the stylish master double bedroom and a bathroom containing an ornate roll-top bath and ornamental fireplace. From the landing on this floor, you will be taken up a third staircase and onto the second floor where you will find two further double bedrooms, one accessed by the other and with the addition of a single bed. You are spoilt for choice at The Old School House! Once you’ve rested for the evening, make your way downstairs and cook up a hearty breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. When the weather is kind, enjoy some time in the enclosed garden, which has a lovely patio area overlooking the church in Stow-on-the-Wold and features seating for eight and a barbecue. The lawn area has pretty flower beds and shrubs and provides the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. Amenities: Gas central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freesat and home cinema system, 2 x iPod docks, WiFi, telephone. Town: Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire and lies beneath Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds and above the vale of the River Severn. It is known as 'The Western Gateway to the Cotswolds'. This edge-of-the Cotswolds spa town is hard to beat for refined elegance and Regency terraces, annual festivals, Ladies' College and racecourse. Also fortnightly farmers markets, classy shops and restaurants all surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse. It's also known for Regency buildings, including the Pittville Pump Room, a remnant of Cheltenham’s past as a spa town. There's fine art at The Wilson museum, and the Victorian Everyman Theatre has an ornate auditorium.
