Chez Bear has everything you need to relax and enjoy a holiday to remember. Children have the space to play in the garden while adults can find a spot to relax. It is an ideal base to explore many of Normandy’s tourist attractions and beautiful beaches. It is located in the village of Landelles et Coupigny in Calvados and is set back from the main road, opposite the local restaurant/tabac, boulangerie and boucherie. The back garden overlooks beautiful countryside. It is a 15-minute drive from Vire and the beaches near Granville are 50 minutes away. Chez Bear is ideal for those who want an interesting holiday home that has space to be together, amenities close by with adventure and beaches just a short drive away. As you walk through Chez Bear’s gates you will climb three steps to enter through the front door and entrance hall. From here you can enter the salon or salle à manger. In the large salon there is a comfortable seating area and table for doing activities together. It has a fireplace and a TV with an Orange Live Box showing French and some international channels. Large windows at each end of the room, overlook both the front garden the terrace and back garden, which can be accessed through patio doors. Across the hall is the dining room, where the large table enables you to share meals together. From here you enter the well-equipped spacious kitchen. There is a large fridge freezer, range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and a small breakfast table. The Rear hall way has a door that opens out onto a raised terrace, a WC and a door that leads down to the cave and garage. On the first floor there are Four bedrooms and two bathrooms The triple room has a king size bed, a single bed, lots of wardrobe space, a seating area and has a view of the front garden The single room has a view of the rear garden and both share a bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate WC The large double room has a large kingsize bed, seating area and view of the front garden The twin room has a view of the rear garden and they share a bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate WC There is a second floor to the property, which is currently not available for guests to use. There is a TV with Orange Live box that offers French channels, WiFi is available throughout the house. There is also a collection of indoor games. Outside, there is a terrace with a table and chairs for ‘al fresco’ dining and a small patio area with a dining space. The garden is mature and enclosed. A washing machine is accessible in the cave. A BBQ has been provided There is a fireplace and an oil heating system for use during the cooler months. Bedding and towels are provided Change over day in high season is Saturday. Please enquire about shorter stays. Smoking is not allowed. PROPERTY SUITABILITY: The house can accommodate 8 people. A cot is available and babies are welcome. Please be aware that there is no stair gate due to the width of the staircase. The house is not wheelchair accessible and please note that there are stairs and steps in the property. Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement and for an extra charge of 15€ The house is non-smoking, however, smoking is allowed outside on the terrace and in the garden. There is parking space available at the rear of the property and you can park on the road at the front. LOCAL AREA: In Landelles et Coupigny you will find a mini supermarket, a boulangerie, a boucherie, a tabac/bar/restaurant, pharmacy, vet, theatre and a hairdresser. The nearest large super markets are 15 minutes away in Vire. There are many wonderful places to discover in this area of Normandy including zoos, towns, nature walks, kayaking on the river Vire, historical towns, sandy beaches and museums. Saint sever Forest, Vire, Saint Lo and the River Vire with its art installations are all close by. Mont Saint Michel is reached in 60 minutes and is a UNESCO heritage site. Bayeux and the D-Day beaches are reached in an hour. Many beautiful beaches are reached in 50 minutes. In Granville you will find a variety of shops, restaurants, beaches and Christian Dior’s home to explore. Iles Chausey is a boat ride from here and has many sites to explore. Eating moules (mussels) from the beds in the bay is a must for fish lovers. Villedieu-les-Poeles, famous for its bell foundry and copper pans, is 21 km away For families- all within an hour’s drive you have Champrepus Zoo, Alligator Bay and the Souleuvre Viaduct with its zip wire, bungee jump and toboggan ride. Swimming, kayaking, horseback riding and horseback riding are also available locally.
