Originally built as a farmhouse for a dairy farm well over the 150 years ago, this home is the real deal for a retro Vermont vacation. It's a Fantastic location, seemingly away from it all, yet just a short drive to both Quechee and Woodstock. You enter the home through the kitchen, which is one of the most interesting features of the house. It is a meticulously restored mail-order kitchen from "Sears and Roebuck" which was installed as an update to the house in the 1940s. A gas wood stove completes the ambiance of the kitchen dining area. There is a half bathroom with an adjacent den with a day bed/trundle, books, and games as you move through to the living room. The living room offers comfortable seating with a large screen smart TV - perfect to relax and enjoy a ball game or just kick your feet up and enjoy a good book. The main floor offers the primary queen bedroom off the living room, a full bathroom and a separate two twin room to complete the main floor living. There is also a BBQ out back overlooking the quiet pastural Vermont setting. Whatever time of year you decide to visit Vermont, The Little House in Hartland is sure to delight. There is a myriad of nearby activities, from boating, fishing and swimming on the Connecticut and Ottaquechee rivers to skiing, mountain biking and adventure-seeking at nearby Okemo and Killington mountains. Quechee, Woodstock and Hanover NH (the home of Dartmouth College) are all close and these beautiful New England villages combine quaintness with cultural sophistication.
