It’s home to a host of architectural treasures, historic gems and a vibrant cultural scene. Once an important centre of the weaving industry, it gave its name to the Paisley Pattern, made fashionable after being worn by a young Queen Victoria and later the Beatles. In fact, the Paisley Museum maintains a significant collection of the original shawls, pattern books and working looms. The historical centre also has Scotland’s largest concentration of listed buildings outside of Edinburgh, including an array of magnificent civic buildings and churches. Even better, it is easily walkable. In more recent times, a thriving contemporary cultural scene has developed helped by local musicians, such as singer Paolo Nutini, and various different artists and creatives. The apartment is within walking distance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital and just a short drive to the town centre. Other notable attractions nearby are Braehead Shopping Centre (less than 6 miles) and Bellahouston Park (8 miles). You are also close to Glasgow International Airport and the excellent M8 motorway for travel into Glasgow and the rest of Scotland, or to Erskine which is the gateway to Loch Lomond and the Scottish Highlands.
