Our claim to fame is that our little village starred in the original hit BBC series All Creatures Great and Small which celebrated the work of James Herriot - very fitting given our location is right at the heart of Herriot Country! The new series of All Creatures Great and Small was also filmed in the Yorkshire Dales, some filming took place locally at The Green Dragon Inn at Hawdraw. There are 3 pubs in the Village serving food at lunch time and evenings The Crown Inn which is just over the road also do hot take out home cooked meals. The Kings Arms which was featured as The Drovers Pub in the original series of All Creatures Great and Small and has retained many original features . The White Rose Hotel , with Conservatory restaurant and garden. We are fortunate to have a fabulous local deli The Bake Well , they sell all manner of pies quiches salads and home cooked take away meals. There is a lovely local craft gift shop. A well stocked village shop for groceries etc. We care about your sleep at Milton House, after all the clue is in the name!. All our rooms have blackout blinds/curtains. Luxury organic mattresses/ mattress toppers hand made by skilled craftsmen at Abaca Organic in West Wales using natural materials such as wool, latex and cotton. We make sure crawling into bed feels just as good as it does at home.
