WELCOME INFORMATION: Before you arrive, Smartavillas will send you a welcome email including key collection details, travel directions and other useful information to assist your arrival and check in. TOURIST TAXES & PASSPORT INFORMATION: Some municipalities within the Eastern Algarve region have now introduced a Tourist Tax, where charges of around 1€ per person per night are applied to a maximum of 7 nights. This charge is levied by the Government, not Smartavillas. You will be informed in advance if you are required to pay this, which will be required in cash on arrival, with a receipt issued for payment confirmation. It is also lawful requirement for all non-Portuguese nationals to provide us with passport details for data entry into the national immigration records. PRIVACY: When booking private accommodation, we like to give you privacy during your stay. However, Smartavillas fully trained personnel are available 24 hours per day should you need assistance of any kind. We are only a phone call away. As this property has a shared pool, please remember that the local pool maintenance team will be accessing the condominium grounds to ensure that the communal facilities are kept to a high standard. HOLIDAY GUIDE: Smartavillas has a fantastic holiday guide packed with lots of information including points of local interest, activities, and restaurant recommendations. For your convenience, we will send you an electronic copy before arrival, and also provide a QR code in the villa. ADDITIONAL CLEANING/SHEET CHANGE As properties are rented on a self-catering arrangement, a daily maid and interim property cleaning service/linen change are not included in the price, but if required, can be provided for an additional charge. Further details available on request. WE KINDLY REQUEST: The house will be well presented for your arrival, and departure cleaning is included in the rental value. However, we do ask for a respectful co-operation with the removal of rubbish, and that BBQ facilities are cleaned of food and debris before you leave. Charges will be incurred if it is deemed that the property is left in an unacceptable condition. DEPARTURE DAY: Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! - and on departure day, check out time is requested at 10.00h. We will contact you towards the end of your stay to confirm this. We may be able to offer a later departure time only if there are no guests arriving on the same day. Unfortunately, however, this is unlikely in the summer months due to high volumes of reservations. Set in the heart of traditional Tavira, the apartment offer easy access to the many attractions of this most charming town. Within walking distance, you will find an abundant and growing list of excellent eateries serving flavoursome dishes to suit all tastes. Wander through narrow, cobbled streets, enjoy resplendent gardens, meander through an old town rich in history, or simply enjoy a refreshment or two at one of the many cafés and bars. The colourful morning market is a must for foodies while a fun ferry trip takes visitors to the impressive ten-kilometre island beach where the clean waters of the Atlantic Ocean lap against golden dune backed sands. The local salt flats provide an important local industry and form part of the vast Ria Formosa Natural Park, an area of outstanding beauty, excellent for bird watching, walking and cycling ARRIVING AT THE PROPERTY: It is our intention to meet you in person at the property on your arrival, but during the pandemic situation, local regulations must be adhered to and this may not be possible. Some of our properties have key safety boxes and you will be informed of the code in advance. For properties without this facility, we will arrange for a key collection from our local office or meet you at the property. Either way we will always be available for assistance if required. Until further notice, please ensure that you wear masks and observe distancing rules when meeting any of our representatives. CHECK-IN TIMES: Please note check-in times are between 16.00h and 19.00h and we will try to be flexible with arrival times outside of these hours. For early arrivals, it may be possible to offer a “bag drop” facility. For later arrivals, there may be the key safety box facility. If not, and we are required to meet you in person for a late-night check in, the following fees will apply: 19.00 - 22.00h 15€ 22.00h - 24.00h 20€ We will ensure that you are well-informed of the specific key collection details. WHAT TO EXPECT ON ARRIVAL: For your arrival, the property will be clean and well-presented and we will supply: Bed sheets and towels A starter supply of toilet paper Hand soap Sanitizing hand gel Rubbish bags Kitchen Starter Pack of cloth, sponge, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets *Please note under the rules of COVID standards of health and hygiene, we are unable to leave opened condiments and food products in the kitchen. From the main condo entrance, you are welcomed into the lovely courtyard decorated with attractive shrubs and bushes leading to the deliciously sparking lap pool (10m x 2m; 1.5m deep). Here you can take a refreshing dip and then relax on the sunbeds provided. Converted from an old olive mill, the apartment has been cleverly designed over three floors to offer ample space and light, while exceptional equipment levels and contemporary furnishings and décor combine effortlessly with polished marble and parquet flooring to make for thoroughly modern interiors. GROUND FLOOR - From the apartment entrance, enter the open plan living space with its comfy sofas, a large dining table and chairs with a fully equipped and compact kitchen tucked neatly away at the rear of the room. The kitchen patio door leads to a private, enclosed patio overlooked only by the charming church and is equipped with table and chairs, ideal for open air dining and relaxing in the cool summer evenings. FIRST FLOOR - Twin bedroom (can be made double) with a Juliet balcony and ensuite shower room with a corridor leading to a sunny terrace, facing the internal courtyard and overlooking the pool. SECOND FLOOR: The open landing provides the perfect place for email and admin time with office and desk space. The spacious master bedroom suite has own bathroom and fitted wardrobes. This is a private accommodation and guests will be able to access all advertised areas and use all advertised facilities. There are 2 internal stair cases within the property. Parking is on street, and spaces are generally available at the rear of the condominium without charge. Great town centre location ensuring all amenities are within easy walking distance. The use of a car is not essential when renting this property. • Train - The nearest stop to the property is at Tavira Central - 10 minutes walk. • Bus – Buses run across the entire Algarve coastline and the nearest stop is at the central station on the other side of the river - 10 minutes walk. • Taxi - There is a rank next to the Roman Bridge - 2 minutes walk. • Smartavillas offer taxi services, and the contact details will be displayed inside your rental property. • Smartavillas can also arrange airport transfers for any number of passengers, private travel services to and from places of interest and competitive rates for car hire.
