Casa da Tapa 7 is embedded in historical town center, next to the “Chapel of the Lord” and bordering the local forest park. A very quiet neighbourhood surrounded by history and stunning countryside views. There are numerous trails to trek on foot or by bike. Close by, among others, is the Roman mining complex of Tresminas, which represents one of the most important gold explorations of the Roman Empire. Piscinas da Ribeira da Oura, a swimmingpool and restaurant were you can relax in the summer in Vidago, just 18km from Vila Pouca de Aguiar. Casa da Tapa one of the oldest residences in Vila Pouca de Aguiar. It is possible to track its existence at least to the beginning of the 17th century, when the house was owned by Pedro Machado, Captain of the Ordinance of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, clerk and notary of this county (according to a letter of 1624). It is also one of the seven emblazoned buildings of the county. The passing of the centuries brought changes to the initial structure of the house, but the building retains its imposing and historical character. Luísa and Arnaldo started Casa da Tapa 7 to share its historic patrimony. In 2017, they opened the doors of this manor house to all those who seek a unique place to stay, reading a book or listening to outdoor silence and water falling of a spring, in a traditional and comfortable place in Vila Real District, only thirty minutes away of Peso da Régua, in the heart of the Douro Valley. OPEN ALL YEAR Guests have exclusive private access to the entire property: over 210 m2 of interior spaces and 1000 m2 exterior lawn and garden. Certain outside service areas are restricted. The hosts do do not live in the property but are always available to help in whatever is necessary. Privacy. We strive to protect the privacy and enjoyment of our guests. Thus, unless requested by you, we will typically not contact you during your stay so as not to interfere with your privacy.
